@@2STROKESTUFFING Alex try extending the primary part of the pipe , the further the expansion chamber is the more topend powerband. The humming topend revs is shortage of fuel with added load. I honestly thought the vacuum carb was going to resolve all the issues maybe the stuffers are to restrictive limiting topend , maybe try once you have new gearbox running half size the stuffers in crankcase. Huge effort well done it'll work.

Brilliant video as usual Alex. Been watching for about 5 years now and your uploads have allways been the highlight of the weekend. Amazing content, superb music and cinematography, plus the problem solving is the icing on the cake! The variety in your videos allways baffles me! I've seen twin exhausts, rotating exhaust valves via chain drive, primary and secondary intake setups, two different supercharger types on a 50cc two stroke and the list goes on! Your content and ideas are allways brilliant and it's those out of the box ideas that allways bring intrigue with your content. Don't ever be apologetic about these things taking time, as a fabricator/machinist myself, I know how much time and effort goes on in the background of these videos. Keep up the brilliant work! I was allways on your side with the carb vs injection war, but lately with you having so much carb issues it would be cool to see you finally dip your toes into making some form of modular fuel injection/throttle body setup to finally get away with all of the carb issues and different carbs. Now that you have a good rolling Dyno setup it would be cool to see you starting to play with the injection side of things as I'm sure the adaptability between all of your different ideas might end up being a bit easier when you can map the fuel and timing to any wild idea and application. Obviously it will have its caveats and difficulties but I've never seen you back down from a challenge yet! For reference here in NZ I have seen a few turbocharged 125-140+cc Honda engines in the little monkies running a tiny injection setup that seemed to have worked well and at first glance they were the same size as the original carburators and were apparently not too bad to setup even with the forced induction! Maybe even just buy a setup that could work and shove it into the shelf for the day you decide to play with it. Ive allways been biased to carbs but I'd definitely love to see your intrigue head to the direction of fuel mapping. Especially with some crazy ideas with throttle bodies. Maybe even pre and post crankcase to play with the volume/flow? KZbinr of the year 5 years+ and running in my opinion! Keep it up!

Never in my history of watching KZbin have I clicked in a video so fast. Excellent choice Alex. I have a RS50 with various AM6 engines in multiple states of tune. Careful you don't miss a gear though. The standard selector drum is awful for finding false neutral gears. Can't wait until the next one
@att49356 Жыл бұрын
Hiya, I've had multiple AM6 engines too, i think the AM6 "gearbox" problem is simply gear spacing and speed of rotation. I actually prefer the standard drum, but always install 0.9 spacers between the secondary axle. Also, I spend that extra euros on the Top Performances straight cut teeth clutch basked. This way the gearbox rotation speed is vastly reduced, allowing the gear to be set in the right position and not to shift out. That is it basically... Never had any issue on false neutrals or falling out of gear, even between the everywhere known from-5th-to-6th shift.
@gpzephyr Жыл бұрын
@@att49356 that's very interesting. I have been through many different shims to make it better. I tried the TP shift drum and found it helped and left it as that. What you say certainly makes sense. Might well give it a go on the next AM6 build

I have made timing belt pulleys with lost pla casting on plaster/sand mix. They are not as pretty as commercial ones but work well. Hole and sides can be machined but teeth work as they are. May not be worth of trouble to make instead of buy but when building things is. The point is you can have them when you need them without stupid waiting. Just print the part with light infill, bury in blaster and burn away in kiln. Can be casted from aluminium, brass or bronze. Aluminium bronze is interesting material. Aluminium is easy, others take some practice to get right.

love the videos been watching for ages, but whats the goal now? if you're planning on going back to a supercharged aplication, verifying the cylinder and port geometry NA might just be a waste of time. Because with so many veriables, pipe, boost pressure, crankcase volume etc; a cylinder that works well in a NA application doesnt mean it'll be suitable for a forced induction set up. thats what i thought the main purpose of having such a large crankcase volume was, to act as a "resivour for boost" due to the 2 stroke cylce, in theory there's not really and reason why that cylinder wouldnt work on a normal crank case design/volume. so isnt it a waste of time to get something working that you know will work eventually when your end goal is to run the engine with a supercahrger and large crankcase volume to suit? keep up the awesome videos, always fun to watch.

Seeing you squeeze a 2nd engine into the RS50 frame send me down a rabbit hole of total madness. Would an opposed piston 50cc 2-stroke give more power than the current design? Just a question, i allways wondering if you never had problems with hydrolic lock in te combustion chamber due to unburned fuel accumulation. The cylinder looks downward. Hydraulic lock is a big issue on old aircrafts Row engines, the lower cilinders had allways to be drained by opening the spark plug. Probably a lock will not occur, but detonation due to a momentary high compressio ratio can happen. Cylinder downwards is anyway a great setup....low gravity point, excellent.

Thanks for the hours of awesome content! I've been following the series for a while. I think it's time you should go EFI, running a pressurized fuel system you can avoid a lot of the vapor locking and vibration issues of a carb, tuning is also way easier not having to faff around with disassembly, just changing a value on the computer. You could also potentially try direct injection into the transfers - Such as KTM did commercially, it might help with the large crank case volume. And if you want to attempt mounting your cylinder to a commercial case, check out the Jawa 20/21/23(220/221/223, "Pionier"), it has quite a lot of meat around the flange and cylinder goes forward resulting in zero obstruction around the flange. Jawa Babetta(type 207, 210) could also work, but the casting is a lot skinnier and comes with a 1speed/2speed automatic instead of a regular wet clutch 3 speed
