I'm here because of my great grandmother, I fondly remember watching divorce court with Judge Lynn Toler with her as a kid and in these tumultuous and turbulent times it brings a degree of nostalgic peace. They said adulthood would be wicked, I did not believe 😂 this sh*t is REAL. I'm thankful that I turned 27 yesterday though, the life I led as a teen I was sure I'd be dead or doing a couple decades by 16 and the crazy thing is I was A-OK with that. I got a ticket yesterday in times Square and after my ticketing officer served me up we part ways respectfully and he even gave me my gallon of Johnny walker back (definitely the homie for that) and another officer walks up and after learning that big bro was killed by police in my house morning of my 13th birthday celebration he said he didn't know how I was able to have a calm convo with police after they did that and it struck me to the soul. I didn't automatically generate and exude zen and confidence, it took 11-12 years before I was even able to feel for anyone else let alone myself. I really feel for the youth of today because I personally know how lost in the sauce we are at those ages and how deep you get in it all if you don't find the path to a different way of life. I was raised religiously, can still quote scripture same way I quote jadakiss 👌 and knowing what I know I still fell into the darkness. Imagine the ones who have literally no knowledge of anything, for anyone who reads this, can you maybe take a different approach and viewpoint in regards to youth? We're just as human as you, we can't learn from you if we feel you fear us. Some will relish the predatory feeling but others simply won't respect you if they feel like you're scared of them and the message is lost. I use reverse psychology a bit, show them that I'm gangsta but still respectful to neighborhood and seniors and more importantly that I won't be intimidated. When that's silently conveyed it cultivates an innate respect and from there, knowledge can be passed back and forth. I feel like I'm the hood Jesus like I'm here to save all these people and remind and re-teach everyone how to live and productively coexist, how to cherish spiritual health because this flesh is weak. Yall be safe and be serious about your souls. You don't have to be a door mat or what we call a "square" to have a thriving soul. Its cool to pray a lot of us need to.
