Dreamcatcher and Rolling Quartz are truly apples and oranges, one a group the other a band, one having choreo, the other having instruments but both are extremely talented.

Some of the shots in Rolling Quartz's Good Night are actually referencing the old Dreamcatcher's MVs and they got some help from Dreamcatcher Company in the production

Fun fact: Almost every scene in that Rolling Quartz MV have easter eggs from Dreamcatcher past MVs, especially in Nightmare Series. Kinda paying homage to Dreamcatcher as 'The Face of Rock in K-Pop'. :D

Dreamcatcher's 'GOOD NIGHT' M/V Director = Rolling Quartz's 'Good Night' M/V Director's boss The two directors apparently talked a lot about the music video. Rolling Quartz’ drummer Youngeun was the drum teacher for Dreamcatcher member Handong. ... I'll also add the stage RQ used is the same stage DC used for "Dreamcatcher(드림캐쳐) 'Odd Eye' Dance Video (Dystopia ver.)"

Seattle was fantastic! Before going, I was concerned I might be "too old" for the audience... NOPE! Truly an all-ages fanbase, from the little girl (~6yo) on her Dad's shoulders, to folks well into their 70s. And Jayoung was a great ringmaster, engaging the crowd throughout the concert! (Of course, the music & singing was top notch!)

Dreamcatcher is the only K-pop group that I've heard that makes me want to hear more. I'd go see them live, too, since I bet they put on a good show. They seem to cross the line between K-rock and K-pop. I wonder if they eat Special K for breakfast. I like RQ's version more, but it has kickass drumming and guitar solos so of course I would. Plus Jayoung's voice is incredible and so versatile. What they're doing in the video is depicting the five senses. Jayoung is taste, Iree (red/pink hair on guitars) is sight, Arem (red/black hair on bass) is hearing, Yeongeun (drums) is touch, and Hyungjung (bluish hair on guitar) is smell. They all look stoic or unhappy, then they start combining the senses. The description of the video says the "music video is about 'trying to gain a sixth sense using the five human senses.'" Lastly, the description says, "Also, Rolling Quartz’ drummer Youngeun was the drum teacher for Dreamcatcher member Handong." I can't imagine a better drum teacher!

Good Night is one of Dreamcatcher's heavier releases, and I love it. The cover by Rolling Quartz is also excellent. The Nightmare hunter casts spells to trap the members, but they get the book from him and turn it against him, trapping him behind the mirror. The next song in the Nightmare arc, "Fly High", is from the album "Prequel", which is a strong hint to consider. 😉 That is also a very interesting song.

I know others have mentioned it as well but I'd LOVE to see them collab somehow. I could imagine a concert series where RQ opens for DC and they do at least some songs together. It would get RQ into some bigger venues and get DC some crossover as well hopefully. Plus there's a decent amount of overlap in the fandoms already.

Kinda funny how you did safe intro about no fan war.. because the bassist and drummer are big fans of dreamcatcher, even the drummer is/was a drum teacher of dreamcatcher member. Some fans of Rolling Quartz are actually (started as) inSomnia, at least myself for the example. I wasn't paying attention to Rolling Quartz debut but starting to do that once they did official remake of Good Night. So no worries, I guess Diadem and inSomnia are less likely to do fan war

there are a few essential double view reactions (although that does lead you down the path of trilogies) Twice's "TT" finishes with the starting music to "Knock Knock" and features the same characters in the story. It is also Halloween/Christmas themed so you may want to put that on the back burner until next year. And I know you're not ready to delve into the boy group side of kpop yet but Big Bang's "Bang Bang Bang" and Dreamcatchers cover of "Bang Bang Bang" would also make a good comparison video. As a former admin of a K-Rock community group, I could recommend a number of bands to check out but the list of all girl k-rock groups is pretty small, and only a handful of bands fronted by a female. Outside of the reaction sphere you may like to check out some Love X Stereo or even B9.

Well, this was a helluva double feature! Two of my favorite bands/groups just teamed up into one reaction. I see a bunch of Insomnia has already showed up with a lot of info about the DC video, so I don't think I can add much. But I will add I like both of the versions and agree completely about there being subtle differences, but they are still quite distinguishable from each other. Now if that isn't Kroc, I don't know what is (I honestly have no idea what to do with that word, just be thankful I tried). Btw, the fandom of Rolling Quartz is Diadem, in case you didn't know.

I wasn’t a fan of goodnight when I first heard it. I thought compared to their other songs goodnight was pretty mid. Then like a year later I saw someone post Rollijg Quartz version on twitter or something now I love both of them. I think I just had to get used to the structure I couldn’t tell apart the verses from the chorus at first.

dreamcatcher \:D/ good night is part 2 of dreamcatcher's nightmare series so all the imagery and plot just went over your heads probably lol. rolling quartz is a pure rock band so they will appeal more to rock purists. dreamcatcher is more pop-rock, among other things, so the forward placement of their vocals will turn off a lot of rock purists I'm sure 😅. hot dogs all the way, loaded but no ketchup!

Coach and Mrs. Coach, Do I have a new Band-Maid song for you to react to. I discovered this live video on KZbin. It's titled "Honkai" SPIN-OFF. It is a pure rock banger but with an EPIC intro from the "Thunder Buddies" MISA, the bassist , and Akane, the drummer. MISA's bass tone in this song is otherworldly. All I can say is "Funky Honkai!".
