Double Flutes / How to play them

An explanation of how various double flutes work. And what is best. Drone flutes are much easier, but limited in what can be played. Even the double medieval recorder is too limited.

I play dulzainas, a pair of Ecuadorian flutes. (Do you know those?) MIne in fact are two penny whistles in C with holes taped over on one. It isn't fully chromatic, but for diatonic harmony it works well for me.

I had one like that. But I sold it because it can not achieve near what this harmony ocarina can. Being fully chromatic on each side and a fifth apart, playing 8 notes on each side far outweighs any other double flute. Though these are definitely for professional playing. Like having a clef.
