Side-sweeping fringes have been seen on the likes of romantic rebels, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz, just to name a few. And if you look at images of any one of them you will notice their fringe is not always worn to the same side.
In this video we are going to touch on two fringe techniques; double identity, side-sweeping fringe and chunky, vandalized fringe - both techniques that need to be up your sleeve as well as images of the styles in your look book/portfolio.
Learn more about cutting double identity fringes on our blog: www.samvilla.c...

I am a big fan of most of Sam's videos but this one... Not so much. To me, it doesn't look much like a side bang period at the end it seemed to like things that go all the way across the forehead and honestly looks more uneven rather than textured. If I did this to one of my clients I feel like they would be unhappy.

I tried this technique on my doll thank god it was my doll and not a client.When I tried it I think I cut too much and it kinda looked good but some parts were standing up and stuff.I think you have to bend the hair and cut it where it stops bending? idk all I know is that I did some mistake :l
@thereverend801
@thereverend801 10 жыл бұрын
part of the challenge with the hair standing up is probably the mannequin hairline... they tend to stand up pretty easy in the fringe area. good lesson though because some of our guests have growth patterns that will do the same thing and the fringe needs to be longer to keep the weight

@sarahelliott3480
@sarahelliott3480 9 жыл бұрын
ok, the first video I watched them put terrible layers in her long pretty hair, that would end up becoming split ends all throughout the hair making it look fried, but then on this video I noticed that part that they said look so nice was all cut off, and what they did to her just now ended up looking like a botched up job that I would have been screaming about and would never pay for. This is why I stay away from stylist, they do not have respect for long hair, if you tell them a 1/2 inch they'll take 2 because they just want to chop and give you what they want not respecting what the client wanted. I'm sure this gal got paid a lot of money for that pretty hair they destroyed.

***** Your right diamond, I know she was a paid model, and there are a lot of people who like short hair as well as we people who like our hair long. I apologize :-), ok nice tips and tricks!
@SmittenKitten.
@SmittenKitten. 9 жыл бұрын
Sarah Elliott I can completely understand your comment. Every stylist I've ever been to has over-cut my hair! I tell them to cut 1/2 inch - 1 inch AT MOST, and they always chop off several inches. The ONLY reason I've been able to come up with is they want to cut off all the dead ends, which I can totally understand, but I'd rather live with some split-ends, and keep my length, than have completely healthy hair, from top-to-tip, but lacking the length I love. I know that probably irritates most stylists, though. :)
@sarahelliott3480
@sarahelliott3480 9 жыл бұрын
SmittenKitten Yes that's what happened to me. The last time I went to a stylist that had 20 years experience and told her I just wanted the front of my hair cut to what most call (face framing) , she picked up my hair over my head and I asked her what are you doing, she replied, you let me do this I've got over 20 years experience, and as she was saying that she cut and what a mess it was..... no framing at all and she cut about 4-5 inches off to much that was straight across. Needless to say I had to keep my hair pulled up with berets and or ponytail for about 8 months before it was long enough to actually face frame it myself.. I like short hair on a lot of girls, women, but I think they need to respect long hair, thats all :-)
@SkeyeU
@SkeyeU 9 жыл бұрын
This has also happen to me I asked for a a line bob, a really long one. And she cut off 7inches of my hair after I told her I needed to be able to pull it back still and she cut a v line bob. It was so short it was above my chin and I couldn't pull the the front of my hair back. Her response was "Oh well its summer and its hot" after I paid I never went back again. She hit me with her comb,pulled and yanked my hair while cutting it and put the comb and scissors in her mouth then ran it through my hair. She charged me for a shampoo and didn't shampoo my hair. So I never went back. Its been a year and my hair still hasn't grown back all the way.

Thank you so much for the chunky textured bangs tutorial. I have really thick curly hair and really thick bangs that always have some wave in them (they will not respond to heat). This style allows me to trim my bangs when needed and have them look great without looking blunt across or totally uneven due to the wave in them. I have no more worries about wind or humidity because these bangs look awesome all the time. Thanks again :)
