This has been one of the most beautiful projects I have seen the only detail that I would add to it is a bottom rim about 2 mm inside of the bottom edge 5mm wide and dome the bottom

Since you already know that you are going to be reducing square or rectangular blocks into cylinders, why not use bandsaw or table saw to remove corners with a 45° cut. The off cut pieces countdown fe saved as components for a future project and the octagon blocks cam be rounded faster, preserving your cutting surfaces. Thanks for sharing this video. The top part is only used as a lid correct? I can see the bottom holding something but how can the top part hold anything?
