If you have one or two people dead the second time this mechanic happens and Tank LB3 is available, you can still salvage it. However, if that happens, then everyone except whoever has the KB has to go to one of the non-tower corners. This is because you cannot resolve the towers with even one person dead and taking them as intended gives you a magic vuln up, and tank LB3 cannot save you from death if you take a tower and even one of them goes off anyway.

Yes. Yes they are. I don't know why, I can't conceive of why, but they are. I've seen parties that can do Gale 2 but fail meteors 80% of the time.
