English speakers often confused by double object pronouns in Italian, but they're not that difficult! And also, Italians use them all the time, so it will be a good idea to learn them and use them in regular speech. Let's discuss the grammar in English first, and then go through many examples so that things make perfect sense.

I felt lost and was waiting for the lesson to finish, because I was like :" omg, how am I supposed to memorize all of that!" Then, my answers were all correct in the comprehension, that made me feel good. I think I get it. Thanks a lot professor, I could never do it without you.

I did all this years ago in Spanish. This is easy only because of Spanish. Without it, I'd struggle massively.

Hi, just wanted to ask if the 'ne' was supposed to be written to be paired with an indirect object pronoun in order for it to be a double pronoun? And that 'ne' substitutes for the direct object as a partitive?

Attento Dave, qando dopo due minuti dici nel punto 3) che i doppi pronomi si attaccano all'Infinito, non è corretto. Si può fare tranquillamente in entrambi i modi. Glielo voglio dire = voglio dirglielo; te ne voglio dare 2 = voglio dartene 2. I think u may mean the Infinitive: daglielo! Parlamene! Maria-Teresa Rivi

@@mtgrrr sono d'accordo con 'ne', come menzionato in libri di grammatica, solo che sta scadendo d'uso. Per quel che riguarda il punto tre di questo video ossia che il doppio pronome vada sempre attaccato all'infinitivo e' indubbiamente da rivedere. Chiedilo a tua mamma.

@@janeyre82 I am not sure why with your level of Italian (native?) you are following this series but nevertheless you have made a fanatastic contribution to my understanding of the finer grammatical points. With regard to the above comments there seems to me to be some confusion between use of the words "imperative" and "infinitive." Be that as it may the following is my summary of the position of Double Object Pronouns but not necessarily as set out in the "How to Section." Please correct as necessary if wrong 1. Verbs- generally before. 2. Imperative- with "tu" after with "Lei" before. 3. Infinitive- after 4. Modal verbs- before or after.

I've looked at 7:11 for 8 mins and I'm still confused about the “gliene” part 😐 gliene when you're referring to “her” as a double indirect object, I know ne is about the loan part (il prestito) but I'm kinda confused about the gli+ne part
@janeyre82
@janeyre82 3 жыл бұрын
Both GLI (to him) and LE (to her) become GLIE when matching with a direct object pronoun or with NE (of/about it), and the two parts always become one word. Hence, in this case you have GLIENE (to her about it). GLIENE (to her about it) HO (I have) GIÀ (already) PARLATO (talked) ---> I have already talked to her about it What you put after the verb in English, you have to put before the verb in Italian if the verb is conjugated. And if the first element (indirect object pronoun) is a 3rd-person form, it always becomes one word with the second one (direct pronoun or NE). That's just it.
