I just became a subscriber today! I'm an American living in Nevada. In about 6 months, I will have my dual citizenship, by descent. I'm looking forward to returning to Italy as a proud Italian citizen and promised myself I will be fluent in the language when I arrive. (12-18 months from now)

Yes.. very easy for you being first generation removed. I had to go back a bit further to my grandparents. All born in Italia.

This is by far my favorite YT channel! So this might be a weird request (and feel free to disregard if you don’t agree!) but I’m wondering if the translations could be slightly more literal? For example, I would love to know that “sono stato con” means “I was” rather than how it’s translated here as “I spent time with”. I mean no disrespect, I’m just thinking maybe this could be slightly confusing for other beginners like myself. Thank you so much for the content though! Katies journey through learning Italian has inspired me so much.

Perfecto, finally, someone does it slow. Thank you I've been on duolingo 2 yrs know idk 3000 word hard to put together my boss been in USA Connecticut for 10 yrs from Naples live her. My grandparents are from Nonni /Naples Nonno / Colobrio and I wish they taught us Italian, but they thought that they were doing the right thing your American to my dad's and siblings back then Irsh in America didn't want the Italians so my MOM Is Irish which 49 yr ago was considered a mixed marriage.
