I love you two -- but i'm curious: Before you start the actual step, why do you always come together so slowly? I've seen other ballroom dancers do the same, but I don't see the reason / art in it? For example, why did the video include 1:03 to 1:07 and 1:14-1:22? Because we need to see how to get into the position? Okay, okay, maybe. But why is that the way to get into the position? Everything else you do is so graceful. The getting into position - this way - does not (to my eyes) have that elegance. What am I not understanding? Why is it done this way? Anyone else is of course invited to attempt an answer. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the man's footwork is incorrect, at least on the partnered side views. The left foot (step 3) should close to the right foot without weight. It definitely looks like significant weight is placed on that foot and they don't close. Otherwise beautiful dancing.
