Great video Tom, with that spool valve. You can set them so they are either in float or pump so it will never jump out. There's a dial on the back by the adjuster for the speed. I think you've got to put it in float first though.

Get it on there mate. It’s handy to identify next years maize fields now, and start loading it up with slurry and box muck over summer or whenever it’s dry 👌

If you turn grass fields into a maize field the maize has plenty of food coming from the grass soil that is fermenting throughout the season. No need to put on loads of manure on it the first year. Unless you got plenty of it ofcourse.
@jascollinscork7 ай бұрын
Keep her 🔥 Tom 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 also I said it before AND I'll say it again IF you can harvest your maize early enough (under plastic will help) you could set grass straight away before winter comes in 🤞🏻 weather permitted 🤞🏻😀

Another great video love seeing ur progress. Just a point on when you talked about the reception pit. You should look into putting a gate valve directly onto your slurry tower. U would fill tanker in seconds with the pressure of slurry instead of sucking with vacuum pump and just use reception pit to completely empty. Hopefully you understand what I’m saying. Great work 👍

be a while before that field you got stuck in is going to be dry enough to drill.......i've heard of maize being drilled in June so i don't think theres a problem if you had to wait a couple of weeks for it to dry out

You could put the reception point wherever you want, you'll just need to run the suction pipe inside the channel to the deepest point. You could also install a submersible pump at the deepest point and use some of your solar power to run the pump.

Tom on wet ground it’s better to run wide open and do multiple applications the speed keeps you moving. So it takes 3 trips but you don’t get stuck and ruts and compacting doesn’t matter because you’re going to plow before planting.
@Paulodonnell61807 ай бұрын
Theres wee dials in beside spools to change one is for constant pumping one cuts it off for like turning a plow and cant remember the other

Tom has the case got a free flow return ? It sounds like the return from the macerator is struggling to return the oil back to the tractor causing back pressure. Ask the dealer if one can be fitted this will dump the oil in the the tractor backend without having to return the oil through the spool valve.
@johnwarwick41057 ай бұрын
Just what I was thinking. If it only ever rotates in one direction free flow return so much better

Not that the Major was at fault and it’s your macerater tank but I used to work for Major and free flow returns for hydraulic oil were the bane of my existence !!!!!! Customer after customer after customer “ My mower controls” or “ My tanker controls aren’t working properly “. Tom - Your constant pump issue, have you tried running it with the return fitting cracked off a little and see if its airlocked? If you try running it with the fitting cracked off so it will leak oil, you know its a tractor issue not dribble bar issue. Might be worth a try if not already sorted it... ;)
