Hi Phil we run two of those spreaders .Great machines the way we set them up is to turn down your tractor oil flow then time each ram to a minute each to extend so essentially 4mins or less for a load then if you want you have room to play with tractor hydraulics.thats the way we do it if it helps.keep up the good work.

Got 10 ton model of that can't fault it got fed up with floor chains in old spreaders .once you get into the way of setting the stages on the ram it's no problem 👍

Phil, question about the trailer wheels, is there a reason why the tyre tread is facing to the rear of the trailer unlike the tractor's tyres that are facing forwards.

They aren't driven wheels so don't need the thread forward for grip. Reversing them stops them marking up the field, mostly. Tankers run the same.

Great Video as always and nice to see a Marshall in action as always seen them at shows and wondered about them. All I'll say if you ever are considering another spreader don't look past a teagle titan. Brilliant machines and best spread pattern of any spreader I've used or seen to date.

So does the spreader push the muck out the back automatically? or do you have to keep adjusting the spool levers?

Used one of the older type Marshall rear spreaders..they’ve got a mechanical regulator for the ram stage speeds but could never see it making any difference! I used to slow my flow down and then knock the spool in and out when the last stage started to push!

Now... Nice seeing a Marshall local to us on demo elsewhere 😮😅.. just remember .. (we have it's wee sister) not to leave the ram at full extension and return for another load and forget ... .. Its a lot of fork work to get it clear again 😉🤣. Stay safe 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ps.. we ran a zetor spreader for donkys of years no problems at all... Nice and low to but small nowadays.

We are only after getting a new 9t Marshall as part of our big Agri hire investment. Seem to be a good bit of kit. A few years hire will soon test her 🙈🙈

The only thing to be aware of is that you remember to pull the plunger back in, someone I know forgot to do it and loaded the spreader and had to pitch fork the entire thing out, not ideal🤣

Wider wheels probably makes it too wide for the road and they wouldn’t be allowed to sell it if that was the case.

Yes they get put on backwards for several reasons, there is less friction when on the road, so it pulls easyer and less tyre wear, also it has better traction for braking goung down hills in feilds. It's debatable but some people say the tread cleans out better with them on backwards.
