In todays video we are out baling paddocks that have got too strong ahead of calves. We have double trouble with 2 double bale handlers from Fleming on demo!
Big thanks to Tama for sponsoring todays video, to find out more about all their crop protections products see link www.tama-irela...
Thanks to Fleming for the loan of the bale handlers. Just for 100% transparency we receive no payment for demoing the handlers. We just get to try them out and thought it makes good content to share!
Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching! G'Luck

Why are you guessing - you have GPS. A one time task, put the GPS on the JD Gator and drive around and map all the field boundaries and obstacles. You will be able to calculate the acreage of each field. Then when it comes time to plant, harvest, mow, spread fertilizer, spray for weeds, etc... you have the Fields mapped so can use the program to immediately start work, as opposed to having to make an A-B Line every time you go to do a job.

Phil pick up 2 bales on the front then lay them down and turn round and put them on the back so they are already lined up

I have the extendable tusk double bale handler an absolute gift especially if bales have sagged before lifting

You can use the front handler to pick up 1 bale and leave it in position next to another, that way it’s easier to turn around and lift with the back one.

If you would run the front lifter in the bottom set of holes for the link arms it will lift higher but also crowd back in more, there is a fine line with them sitting level on the ground & crowding in enough when raised, I extended the top link bracket on mine & made a job out of it.

for the back, put the bale on the left side as you look out the back when your putting it next to the other bale. It makes it easier because your looking over your right shoulder

Is the spacing the same on the front and rear handlers the same? If it is could you not pick them with the front first, then when you put them down it's set for the rear?

Handy bits of kit. Will you be mowing the grass after the calves have grazed paddocks to keep the quality in them too?

Not being smart Phil if you were using this combo again you could use the front lifter to pair the bales then it would be easy to lift them with the back one

The ram seems like a good idea but if you are dropping them as the bottom layer of a stack you have to re handle them as they are too far apart when the ram is lowered.

Definitely one acre in that Lawn field because I measured it with google maps. When I'm lifting bales on the back I lift the first one on the right hand side lifter, i then set it against the left hand side of the next bale in the field so that when i pull forward to line up to lift them both the first bale i lifted on the right hand side lifter is now on the left hand side lifter and the second bale is on the right hand side lifter if that makes sense, when you look over your right hand shoulder you can see at all times what is going on, everyone has their own way of doing it, I'm just sharing my way.

Fleming make a good lifter but the toplink bracket needs to be raised by about 12 inches! When you lift up the lifter the back of the the bale tilt's to the ground! With a standard toplink when you adjust it right for going under bale it's to long when raised!
