In this video I go over all of the steps that I took to go from a dull single vanity to our new double vanity. The best part about this install is that we didn't have to cut the wall or floor to add the plumbing for another sink! This video will show you how to modify a new vanity so that your main plumbing can stay in tack while still providing a professional looking install. If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more of our master bathroom renovation please subscribe to the channel and check out the playlist!

Electric box needs to be 3 feet minimum away from any tub or shower there call zones. If you put the outlet on the other side of the vanity you would be fine. You did a great job. I think now they want the ventless system above water line now in case you have a back up in the system. I used the one that looks like a air vent so the studor valve can hide in there and I think its easier because if you ever need to change the vent its super easy. I install the studor vent high above the sink in the wall more near the ceiling. The vent box is paintable so you know.
@BakersDIYLifestyle

Thanks for the tips! I did place the studor as high as I could but I couldn't get clear video of it. It's almost touching the bottom of the vanity top.

this is good information but your situation is probably very different from most. Most people have plumbing behind the wall not the way you have yours. you have several options.
@BakersDIYLifestyle
@BakersDIYLifestyle Ай бұрын
You can do the same exact thing with it in the wall. The benefit it that there is probably also a vent in a wall so you can just hook up the p traps and go

Thank you for your video! We are doing this to our bathroom now. Any issues with the plumbing? We had a contractor come out saying we would need to open up the floor and the wall to change the plumbing to a from a single to a double, but are looking into doing what you did ourselves. Any tips?
@BakersDIYLifestyle
@BakersDIYLifestyle Жыл бұрын
I'm glad it helped! The only advice I really have is if you are going to offset the main drain to 1 side of the double vanity, I would just connect both drains together and use 1 p trap like you would with a double kitchen sink. Good luck!

@@BakersDIYLifestyle one thing to note is the sinks can not be more than 30” from each other to share a P trap That looks like a 60” vanity? might be right on the cusp of 30” on center

This is so DIY… and wrong. You need a second vent pipe which this person not do. Your contractor is partially right… that you should open the wall up to add the second vent pie. This video is not to code/recommended.
@BakersDIYLifestyle
@BakersDIYLifestyle 8 ай бұрын
It's definitely DIY but it's not wrong. The system has 3 vents. 1 for the toilet, 1 for the shower, and 1 for the sinks. This setup is no different than how it would vent in the wall.

Its called Dolton 60" vanity from Lowe's. I bought it because it was the cheapest one they had that looked nice. Its not very well made however, my top is epoxied down wrong. I think they didn't mix the epoxy so it never set up and remains a sticky mess. Also some of the supports that hold the top to the cabinet were broken when I got it.

I did but I wasn't sure if I would have room around the shelves or the main drain line so this was definitely the easiest. If I did it again I might take more time to try that or if the vanity was built differently I would.

Do each sink has hot and cold? And is the water pressure stronger on one side than the other?
@BakersDIYLifestyle
@BakersDIYLifestyle 11 ай бұрын
Yeah each sink has hot and cold. The lines coming in have a splitter to run to both sinks. The pressure does drop when running both sinks, but you could plumb a complete circuit under the vanity, or in the crawl space that would help maintain pressure on both sides.
