Playing more drafts will improve your skill for sure, but you're investing more time with the second account not just for the extra drafts, but for the grinding to earn that gold to play those extra drafts, which can be frustrating. Perhaps the time would be better spent in study, as others have mentioned, watching high rated drafters draft and play, and studying articles and tier-lists. Another nearly zero-effort way to improve your drafting is to use a draft-assistant overlay app like MTGA Assistant. This will show you card ratings while drafting and can even help you build your draft deck. My super-secret trick is to play your draft games during non prime-time hours. I live in the Eastern US and I find that competition is softest on weekday mornings and the toughest in the evenings and on weekends. I know that not everyone can do this, but, if you have the option, give it a try.

There are definitely many other ways to improve your drafting skills, but I think extra practice is the best place to start. Watching other drafters is great, and a draft assistant app can be useful for some people too, but I choose not to use one. I don't think anyone should invest a lot of time in a second account, but even 5-10 minutes a day will give you a lot of extra value.

bro, i find that late at night/early morning (midnight/1 am) where i live is the easiest time to play. but i 100% agree that there are times when the competition is NOT as tough as other times.

Yup - there are certainly easier times of day to play Arena. Living in the U.K. it’s easy to avoid the American drafters all playing the set lists the streamers recommend

if you've got the time, wwatching other good drafters can help you improve. Numot the Nummy, From Bronze to Mythic with Jim Davis, Gomlet X, Nicolai Bolas; these are all very competent drafters of the current set (don't waste time watching people draft various cubes!) that do a good job of narrating the reasons that they pick the cards that they do and they are all very good players.

I've really enjoyed watching Nikolai Bolas recently, I've definitely improved a lot from the tips that he's given and he will get a mention in my next drafting tips video!

what's the best use of the free draft token you get with the mastery pass? which draft event should I enter?
@gameschooldadMTG Жыл бұрын
The draft token can be used in either Traditional Draft or Premier Draft events. The Premier Draft gives a good amount of rewards in gems and packs, but only after you get 3 wins in the event. If you've got some experience with drafting, then I'd use it there. If you're less experienced with drafting, then it would be best to save the token until after you've done some other Quick Draft events and got used to the format.

I'm not supposed to play premier drafts? Do you know when there will be phirexia in the quick draft?
@gameschooldadMTG Жыл бұрын
Premier Draft is good, but is generally better for the rewards if you can reliably get 3 or more wins in each draft. Quick Draft is better for people who do it for the cards and don't get such a high win rate. Phyrexia is scheduled to be on the Quick Draft event later today.

hi. i dont get it. Whats the difference between my first and second account? The second account plays for free? Thanks
@gameschooldadMTG7 ай бұрын
The idea is the second account is only for completing dailies and getting quick draft practice, so you don't need to worry about anything that generally improves the collection on the second account as it's just for experience.

@@gameschooldadMTG i think now i get it. You need to play on the 2nd account to practice to avoid losing in the 1st account that is for higher rankings.. So, its all about the rankings..

Just a quick suggestion. The videos are way too long. Just plain talking for 17:39 is just too boring. The beginning felt like 2 minute scam intro "Do this to get the best results! Just try this trick...." without getting to the topic. Just a quick 5min tip video would be more entertaining I believe. Keep it up though, appreciate the tips and tricks videos.

Thanks for your feedback. A lot of videos that go through these kind of economy tips can tend to run a little longer because there are lots of different follow up questions that someone might ask if I just made a 2 minute video that said "Get a second account and practice drafting on it". I've tried to cover lots of these potential questions and have edited out as much as I can to keep it as short as possible.
