One of my favourite buses to drive! 2007 model ENVIRO 400 diesel.

Doubledeckeranton mentions in detail one of his favourite 'old' buses that he likes to drive and makes a short list of things that make the 1st version of the Enviro 400 diesel a great bus!
This 2007 bus is different in many ways from the 2nd version Enviro 400 that replaced it in late 2009!
The feel of the bus is similar to buses of old and as the saying goes 'they don't make things like they used to'.

The first Enviro 400 was a 55 plate demonstrator that went to Stagecoach London Anton that replaced the Trident blown up in 2005 terrorist attacks. Enviro 400 is also my favourite bus as a passenger because it has the jump seats on the nearside.

DoubleDeckerAnton no bother Mate but it wasn’t till 2006 that production started at Falkirk Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Stagecoach moved three 56 plate ones to Glenrothes from Manchester when they were only abt 2 to 3 years old. But they moved not long after. Think they might be up North in Aberdeen or Inverness area. Not sure Mate. Fleetnumbers were 19047 & 19052 19057 Think they might be Back operating in Fife but from another depot either Aberhill or Dunfermline Anton.

Ross McGarrie - Yep the replacement bus was called the Spirit of London but in FACT the 2005 "attack" was NOTHING to do with "terrorists". The best thing about enviros are the old exits doors which are soooooo much better than breaking glass soft ones on a modern enviro 400s AND modern 200s

Was driving one the other week. It was lovely and smooth and such a refreshing change from the usual WVLs. The first few minutes of driving was interesting, as the indicator stalk is on the right. Lol.

Hello Anton. What we don't see in the video is that this model looks also very friendly from the outside. It is in many ways a very special model. And just like the old routemaster it greets her passengers every morning with that very friendly smile. Small important details do really matter. Bus-architects can make bus-experience a happy experience.

Those backdoors close lovely. Pet hate is slow closing doors as you can't take power until they're fully closed and miss a gap in the traffic

The iBus display on the upper deck is mounted off to the right because it wouldn't fit inside the space where the usual "Stopping" sign is. However it does fit in that space on the Gemini, even though that body is 5 years older from 2001. The Y reg President bodied Volvos had very quick doors. They take literally about a second, maybe a second and a half to open and close. There are some in the commercial fleet, and a couple in the training fleet.

We have 2007 Enviro 400's in Ireland (Dublin Bus). Great buses 👍. Seating arrangements are quite similar to your bus except ours don't have centre doors and the wheelchair space is on the left side just after where the middle doors on your buses would be

I've been on those on the 185. Always avoid those seats in the saloon deck. Bad enough I got on a slighly not so older one on the 185 from Lewisham to Dulwich yesterday (as I missed the P4) and sat at the twin seats with very little padding.

As a driver of 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen enviro 4's. I can confirm the 1st gen are best to drive. 2nd are a jerky bag of bones, and 3rd are just as jerky, slightly better with voiths.

These first versions are Dennis Trident II Enviro 400's, so it has the same engine as the ALX400's the version 2 of the E400's are ADL E40D enviro 400's :-)

Some enviro 400s have 4 seats near the wheelchair area or 2 seats but I've never seen a enviro 400 with 3 seats near the wheelchair area, also the handle on the staircase is seen on most enviro 400s including modern day ones, the back door has two emergancy door buttons in a flap instead of one, upper deck windows may be the enviro 400MMC shaped ones instead of modern day enviro 400s with a curved square shaped window and The older buses just look much nicer.

There is a seat behind the cab because the fuel tank is located underneath the bus and these Enviro 400s were new to metroline in late 2005 and to GAL in 2006

In Leicester, First had 35 ex-London 2008 Dennis Trident 2s but they’ve replaced them with StreetDecks. Arriva only have the awful facelift of the mk.1, the 2014 model. Thankfully, it was made up for with 35 MMCs, joint by 11 Sapphire variants a year later, which are unfortunately leaving after just 6 months. My favourite bus is the DAF/VDL DB250, they’re probably the best sounding buses I know of. Once upon a time we had 44 on the East Lancs Lowlander body from 2001-02 with a further 32 Pulsar Geminis from 2006, then we got a few ALX400s transferred from London during 2011-2013. Sadly, only the Geminis remain.

my faviroute type of bus (engine wise), is those scania omnicitys as they just fell really fast when being driven But my faviroute type of bus in genral is the enviro 400, B7TL in which is atchually quite a rare one ofa kind bus apprently and it also belongs to go south coast bluestar bus, Fleet 1851 that also has a seat behind the driver seat same applys to their ex-unilink fleets, now in bluestar livery and thats quite a few fleets that have those seats unlink now has e-400smc with stop/start technology and bluestar has also gotten more-400mcs with said, stop start technology. my other local bus company, xelabus has volvo buses with no emissions, so they run on electrical power when in moving traffic or pulling of from bus stops and when they go over 20mph their diesal engines kick in

Anton the Busses in Blackpool they autoturn off engine when they get to a stop when picking up. bus driver as to start buses every time after pick up from stop. but blackpool busses are so clean

DoubleDeckerAnton Scania K230UB has a back window And it’s designed for heavy duty work plus the scania N230UD don’t have back windows which is against TFL spec actually but having no rear window with first and stagecoach is ok

I love Enviro 200’s before 2011. They are so nice and have a rough distinct engine. Stagecoach stockport had loads of 2009 enviro 200’s but sadly half went and the other went in reserve. The most stupid desicion Stockport did was buy 5 Enviro 200 MMC’s which means now their low on buses. Stockport has got loads of 2008 Enviro 400’s and all of the seats are worn and rough and then we have 2009 MAN engines enviro 400’s.

Liftboy 2004 There are 2 08 plate E200 buses on loan at Ashton depot from Middleton. Ashton have scraped their optare solos and the MAN ALX 300 buses are going to be replaced with E200 MMC next year

Manchester Bus Journeys 22397 got scrapped and 22398 and above will be training buses. Look out for 36106-36113. 36105 and below have the better engines. The 2008 Enviro 200’s are the mini ones which have the nice engine but I thought Ashton only have 2011 ones.

It must have just been a one day thing. 36074 is in reserve and you might have got that but I checked stagecoaches fleet list(that updates all the time) and the enviros from Middleton are still there.youve also got two solos left 47618 and 47619.

Manchester Bus Journeys Stockport are low on buses because they thought it was clever to get rid of 20 Enviro 200’s for 5 Enviro 200 mmc’s for one route. And the 20 Enviro 200’s were the really nice 2009 ones.

I think that you should consider with TFL to launch an awareness campaign for people inorder to improve the sanitation in London's transport system and teach commuters the art of respect to public property. With the new campaign, people will learn about the disrespectfulness in littering buses.

The 2015 or newer versions do not have a seat directly behind the driver cab. The largest leg room is on the seat directly behind the staircase on the upper deck.

A shame that these buses (E58,59 and 60) have now transferred away from Camberwell for use on the Route 353 along with a few other NX E400s. No more kickdown for DoubleDeckerAnton now :(

Ant, today I was on a bus and there was a fella being abusive and not letting others sit next to him, do you think if this was reported to the bus driver she would have done anything, personally if this occurred on a bus that you were driving what would you do if such a thing happened?
