How many shots did you have to take to mobilise these suspects? Questionable UOF and also, your arrest would have been thown out as soon as they arrived at custody; no caution, no necessities and the only search you did was "under the police and criminal evidence act"... what legislation was you using?

When the guy is charging at you with a LETHAL knife the reaction time between changing your gun to a taser wouldn't be possible if the man is charging to you very closely at speed with a knife. He did it correctly. I know the preferred out come was the criminal to be alive and to be put in jail but that can't always happen.

And from Woolwich, that goes back while and from what the attackers were saying and what was happening at the time well I personally wouldn't even have a taser out. However there are other units on scene but it is a difficult one to say!

It’s a tricky situation, isn’t it? There’s countless examples of American police officers deploying a taser only for it to be ineffective; I think pre-emptively it can work, but when someone is charging towards you there simply isn’t enough stopping power. I think the Met changed their policy a while back where they would actively deploy ARVs to situations where there were knives present for this reason. It’s a very divisive topic for these reasons
