The sumo thing comes from the first episode of the yogpod, where simon and lewis talk about sumo wrestlers. The idea was the each village had a champion who they would invest lots of their resources in and when there was a conflict between two villages instead of having a war or whatever each village would send their champions to battle in a ceremonial contest. I don't think there's any evidence for that theory, simon just made it up on the spot. Its not totally outlandish, there's a long history of ceremonial battles being used to resolve disputes, but there's no reason to believe its true in the case of sumo wrestlers.

The problem is that Joe usually gets the maddest during the laning stage when watching live, meanwhile Pyrion just chats way and ignores it. That's why these games seem less horrid than Joe remembers Mars didn't use a spell OR last hit during the lane, it was doing my NUT

Yeah that spear looked odd to me at first too but I believe it’s the ET natural order debuff amping the damage.

​@@nohey12 Armor reduction is on ET himself, the magic res reduction is on his spirit, both 350 range, and the debuff lingers 1s, so I don't PA's affected by it. Spear does 325 magic damage which is like 25% of an Agi carry's health at lvl 10 sans stats. I can't think of anything else but stats being the issue.

I think a big part of it that Pyrion and Joe weren't looking at was the fact that Daf just kinda- Hung about all game. He'd whack out a Stomp and an Ult every now and then, and then just run away, despite getting Echo Sabre. He's playing a right-clicker but was too spooked to ever go in and right click

Difference is with Amazon and other delivery companies, it's not a felony to steal it, whereas with USPS it's up to 5 years jail and a $250,000 max fine. For 1 piece of mail. So comparitively, a slap on the wrist or losing your dogshit courier job (and having to get another likely less terrible job), or just getting shouted at by your neighbour, is nothing.

Positions in Dota denote farm priority i.e. position 1 should get the most farm, pos 5 the least. In order, with the lane they're played in: Pos 1 - Carry - safe lane Pos 2 - Mid - mid lane Pos 3 - Offlane - off lane Pos 4 - Soft support - off lane Pos 5 - Hard Support - safe lane.

Pos 3 is position 3, the guy who is farming in the offlane (the more dangerous lane, top for radiant, bottom for dire), pos 4 is position 4, the guy who is supporting the pos 3 in the offlane.

@@sykessaul123 It's the tower placement. If you have a look at the minimap during the first few minutes of the game, radiant's towers are closer to the middle at the top, while dire's towers are closer at the bottom lane. This makes it safer for radiant to farm top and dire bottom, because the creep wave naturally meets closer to their towers. I'm not sure if it's a thing anymore because I've not heard anyone mention it, but it used to be that people would try to actively block the first creep wave to try and manipulate the lane so they start closer to their tower. If they can fight the wave under their tower, they're generally much safer from enemy harass.

@@yoshimario40 creep blocking is totally still a thing, at least in unranked where I play. The problem is if you do it too well then they meet under your tower and it's harder to last hit well. It also only happens on the first wave of the game cause after that it's more efficient to manipulate the wave by pulling the neutral camps.

The original era of Sips and Lewis on here was peak Yogscast for me, shame that this channel has been seemingly hijacked for something else. Does anyone have a history lesson to catch me up?

It died, was brought back about a year or so ago by lewis and pyrion, following the rise of daf (the player they're mocking) - then lewis hasn't been on for a few episodes, so Joe got on board: he plays dota on stream with daf.
