Been laid off for almost a year now, but I rewatch these to make sure I’m not forgetting anything. Thanks.

Good video I didn’t know you can activate snubber without getting air into the tank of the dolly,,thanks for the videos they help tremendously.

I’ve always wondered why the pintle hook doesn’t need grease? Considering all the friction and rubbing when you make turns.

Wish I can work for ups as a freight driver.

Conversely, I wish UPS Freight Corporate wasn't so ridiculous as to eliminate such a great division! Honestly, was the $800 million sell-off worth it in the end? UPS Freight used to be number one and the second was FedEx Freight. Now, it's the complete opposite. What a waste of great equipment, drivers, and equipment! And like you, I also wanted to become a UPS Freight driver. What a shame!
@averagebloke44742 жыл бұрын
@@johnb.399 I don't know what to say. You can only control what you can control, if you like the job as a driver who cares. It's just an opportunity at the end of the day.

@@averagebloke4474 Thank you! I was offered an apprentice job with FedEx Freight. Do you think it is a good opportunity? Just asking. I just want to make the right decision, but honestly, I do like your logic. A job is a job and a great opportunity to take advantage of. And if I go by your logic, then the FedEx Freight job is a good opportunity to work somewhere and gain valuable experience, and a good paycheck.
Ups equipment is slightly outdated… new= “snubber” does not exist… safety bar is auto set… dual tires not four(easier to turn)… dolly 5th wheels now adjust instead of solid height on leaf springs… less cotact points against air lines ETC!

Rewatching this video now that I'm qualified, all I can think is "why was this so complicated for me and why did it take me 3 while days of training to get the hang of it?"

Why do the Ups Dollies and Trailers have such low Pintle Hook Connections. Is it for easier lifting of the Dolly as the Hitch is closer to the ground than traditional trailers?
@UPSLawnsideFeeders2 жыл бұрын
Good question! I asked that question before, “just designed that way”. My only guess would be less parts to repair ( wheels and post) are always getting ripped off on dollys
@tamipotirala69732 жыл бұрын
Fedex ground is much higher

I think they designed it that way to locate the pintle hook at the roll center of the trailer to minimize rock steer. That would be so the Dollie tongue doesn't wag as the lead trailer rocks side to side going down the road.
