Her Shooting Journey

Her Shooting Journey

Күн бұрын

This week I have really been focusing on my doubles game. Monday night we went out and shot stations 3, 4, and 5 to simulate a shoot-off situation. One of the biggest things I struggle with when I am put into shoot-offs is focusing on myself and not all the noise behind me.
One of my teammates did a fantastic job doing everything he could to distract me. This helped me to focus on my breathing enough to drown out the noise and distractions.
Watch till the end of the video to see what finally broke me down to miss, finishing with a 25/26 in Doubles Skeet.
WHAT KINDS OF THINGS WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE IN HOPES OF DISTRACTING THEM? COMMENT BELOW!

How the heck do they keep such good grass there? Our skeet field looks like Death Valley compared to that.

I think "don't miss" will always be the best thing to say to distract someone. The implied pressure and the negative are really hard to get over.

I feel like saying “I love you” out on the skeet field would also be a really great one to say to anyone. Especially if it’s your crush and they don’t know.

When I hear somebody say "watch him, he can shoot" behind me, I miss every time.

Why is she using 'blend' on left eye? Focusing only by right one?

@@AdamsClayPigeonGuide I was trying this trick but it messed more then I expected. Right hand/eye. Start shooting 45acp or 9x19 pistol with open both eyes and it helped. Always both open and focus on clay. ps: still bad shooter but at the end both eyes open ;)

I can’t stand those battery powered remote controls. The lure is the convenience they offer a facility and it’s members. But there is a negative. The moment she goes and competes where they use hard wired cords she will miss because her timing will be off, especially if she gets a referee that presses the button on the “P” of pull. My friendly advice is to use the electric cords to prepare for registered tournaments if they’re available.

I use both! They work great for a club as small as mine. I would argue that so long as you as an athlete is trained enough to not leave the house until the target emerges you will be fine. I would never drag a club or a shooter for the equipment they provide, some aren’t as lucky to have both at their disposal. Again, I firmly believe you can get good solid practice on both.

I hear that. Those remotes should have a few millisecond delay, to mimic a person pulling the bird.

@@skeet25s they’re not used at any major tournament and are not sanctioned by the NSSA. As a matter of fact, four or five years ago the NSSA had to scrap the Briley wands because of inconsistent pulls. As technology improves they’ll probably get better and ultimately replace the cords, but as of today nothing replaces a hardwired cord with an experienced referee.

I'm amazed she can hit anything with that guy constantly yapping in the background. Must be part of her training to learn to concentrate..........?
