I watch this last night and I kept asking how do people keep walking into her house without permission - the cop, the neighbor, everybody keeps walking into her house unannounced. A lot of events of the story just wouldn't have happened if it weren't for this. Someone from outside just walks into her house to have an argument with her. She says how did you get in my house, and they never answer her. You never find out.

The movie was originally a Fox title acquired by Disney. Due to it not testing well it was sold to Netflix (more like dumped on.) Netflix does this a lot, if it was a retail outlet, one of its business strategies is is to acquire and sell discontinued and refurbished goods.

It's actually a bit of a shame. In 2016 when Stranger Things first came on the scene, Netflix was having a torrid streak of hits, but now it's become quantity over quality. There are still plenty of solid ones (Trial of Chicago Seven, Mank, Army of the Dead later this week, some decent original shows, a short about apparel from DTMerch.com, etc.) but it's not the same. Good thing there are other services out there like Prime, AppleTV and Hulu.
@SmartSmears

To be fair, that's because all the other companies removed ther content to make their own service. Honestly i'd give it a 7.5/10, it's a pretty decent film with a great performance from Amy Adams and the cinematography looks gorgeous 😍

So they basically got the idea by mixing Hitchcock's 1954 Rear Window & 1995 *Copycat* (because of the agoraphobia)

But for it to be a "Bubbles" thats definitely something only Korey would get. We need a Universal agreement on what to call a movie like that. Or something other would know what to call it. OH I KNOW!!!! it's called A LET DOWN!!!! 🙄

What I'm hearing is that if I remix an old classic film I can be a big author, despite not remixing it well? Time to refresh my knowledge of Billy Wilder

I literally just finished an emotionally intense play through of Kingdom Hearts 2 that helped me recognize how my Autism (rather mild) has caused me to repress myself my whole life out of fear of not being accepted because of how society treats autism. For a moment I wondered if I was maybe blowing things out of proportion in my head but then I saw this and was reminded that no, the attitude towards Autism is STILL pretty terrible...

WINDOW WASH OUT PRAISE: I was amazed that such a talented group of actors were in this flick about...... All of the actors including : do a fine job with the time they are given. There are some nice visual touches and noticeable nods to Rear Window. The film really tries to create some original moments by altering characters and narratives.There are some thrilling moments near the climax of the film but..... PROBLEMS: Its to little to late. A lot of talent was underused. The slow pacing coupled with to many uninvolving moments that were set up like a stage play took me out of the movie. One moment in particular was to put a nice bow on everything at the end of the film but it could have been reduced to a minute. Usually Director Joe Wright is excellent at even making the most drawn out scenes mesmerizing but not this time. I recommend watching...starring Steve Guttenberg over this movie. Scale of 1 to 10 a 4.5

I would have given the movie 1/10, it there was a scene with.....: Killer : "Why did you say that name? WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?" Amy Adams runs over: "It's his mother's name! It's his mothers name"
