Die Hard 1 is a brilliantly written movie. People need to know and remember that when comparing it to other movies. It's about the WRITING. Everything else flows downstream from that. 14:27 - The dialogue in DH 1 was so well done - organic and pertinent to the character personalities.

A 3/5 Produced by Steven Speilberg and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra A Christmas action thriller making airports much more anxiety filled The film covers the TSA and its treatment of fliers, what it takes to run an institution, the sacrifices and the weight people literally carry to safely secure passengers traveling, and the constant stress customers have to endure going through checkpoints Bateman delivers a cold, calculating performance as this antagonist who’s only job is to deliver the deadly luggage Edgerton is okay, he doesn’t really have too much charisma Carson is actually the more interesting character in fact maybe this story should’ve focused on her It stinks that the film takes over an hour and 5 min for the thrills to start Two hours is too long, an hour and a half would’ve sufficed better But there’s a really impressive car scene involving 360 degree camera angles And there’s lots of plot twists building on top of one another as things progress Yeah some of the stuff borderlines on ridiculous being convoluted but Serra keeps most of this tension alive Lots of nods to ‘Die Hard’ as well as ‘Non-Stop’

I don't trust Netflix top 10s any more except for obviously big shows like Squid Game or Wednesday. I noticed that after they adjusted their alorithm that the movies on the Top 10 list and the ones that stay on it the longest are movies that are under 2 hours. I also noticed the same with the series top 10 as well. The series with under 1 hour episodes with the least number of episodes get on and stay the longest on there. At this point, it feels it's useless. So I research the shows or movies on top 10s first before I watch any of them.

PRAISE: This was definitely Die Hard 2 lite as an airport security agent is put into frantic mode by a mysterious man trying to get a lethal device on a plane. Jason Bateman sounds and looks like he's having the most fun as he manipulates various strings to control a very believable Taron Egerton as a TSA Agent named Ethan Kopek. Writer T.J Fixman infuses all of the aggravation and obnoxious vibes of traveling for the holidays and definitely adds some humor around the edges. Back to Egerton i actually felt bad for his character Kopek as he is forced to do things he doesn't want to that effects him personally, especially with his girlfriend Nora Parisi portrayed by the lovely Sofia Carson. The action sequences are good but there is one standout sequence that is so much fun i wish all of them had been styled in the same way. I was suspicious of so many characters in this movie and I liked that I was thrown off a bit. Also there was a stand out death scene i really liked. PROBLEMS: I think this was the first time in which the way a character was dressed lead to an ultra predictable turn. Throw in a couple of on the nose predictable outcomes. I wish the movie had maintained the ultra dark vibe it started with. Scale of 1 to 10 a 7.5
