As ridiculous as this movie made it seem, the whole part where the bad guy was trying to stop Marcus from getting a record deal is close to what happened in real life. That bad guy character was based on the drug lord Supreme from 50 Cent’s neighborhood. At the time he was using Murder Inc as a legit revenue stream, and he and Irv Gotti tried to blackball 50 from the industry. The “Dangerous” rapper is based on Ja Rule. It wasn’t executed well at all in this movie, but it was based on that

As funny as the movie is, a lot of this is loosely based on true events. When supreme got out of prison he tried to leave the life of drugs and get into the hip hop industry. When 50 made the song ghetto quran, he took shots at supreme and it caused him to have more legal issues, so he put the hit out on 50 which got him shot 9 times. In the movie it seems like Majestic is supposed to either be Supreme, or Supreme’s cousin prince. The movie is just a super cartoonish version of what actually happened. IMO, i think that majestic is supposed to be prince and Levar is supposed to be supreme. Cause in Ghetto Quran he says preme was the business man and prince was the killer. Also, when preme got arrested, prince went to war with the Dominicans over drugs and territory, and during this time Levar is locked up and majestic is causing chaos. Marcus - 50 cent Levar - Supreme or Fat Cat Majestic - Prince (maybe preme if Levar is fat cat) Dangerous - Ja Rule

Students at my high school wouldn't shut the hell up about this movie then I finally saw it and wondered "That's it? What was this?" 2005 brought its best, but sweet Jesus did it also bring its worst.

50 made one of the best shows ever....Power. Imo none of the spin offs have matched the first season. 50s rival is named Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje he also played in The Mummy Returns as Loch-Na he played King Croc in Suicide Squad & Kahega in Congo. Other films Included Ace Ventura When Nature Calls The Thing 2011 Trumbo Unstoppable & others

@@chanelhenderson8460 Kanan is....fine the actors are good but the storylines are average, Juke and his mom are good characters, haven't seen season 2 yet, and Tariq is just dumb, the show is trying WAY to hard to make him like Ghost, not to mention he doesn't have the charisma to lead the show so it feels awkward, Mary J is good and the other characters are too, the actor for Bobby Brown is the one carrying it tbh Tommy I'll get to eventually

My soon to be ex-wife is a big fan of this movie. So much so that she did the same thing the love interest did when she saw Marcus years later. She dumped me for a gangsta 💔 lol. I saw Get Rich Or Die Tryin in theaters on opening day. Later that day after seeing the movie. The local news reported a shooting that happened in the lobby of same theater I saw it and the theater pulled the movie from that theater the next day.

You know 50 got on for diss tracks like “How to Rob”. However his song “Ghetto Quran” was about people from his hometown of Queens, NY and that did lead to him getting shot x9.

No joke. I forget who said that 50 Cent's life itself is like a Hollywood script. Things that most people won't survive. Can't forget his run when he was a mixtape king. Sidenote: Would love DT to review 8 Mile. Will never forget my experience in the theater. Huge Hip Hop crowd and we reacted with the oohs and ahs when the battles took place.
