Makes sense because as much as I want die hard fans to enjoy their experience, even if it's by singing along, it's incredibly annoying when you go to experience something for yourself and then other people feel entitled to take that away from people trying to absorb it in their own way. I have adhd so it's very hard to find movies that actually grab my full attention for long periods of time. This movie is 2hrs30min and I was into it the whole time. Saw it in 3d and dbox seats ($30/ticket) and I was absolutely blown away. I got to experience this movie fully immersed WITHOUT people singing thankfully and I'm so grateful for that.

THANK YOU Korey for acknowledging that Wicked did the "that's how they got their *insert item here*" first - I'd argue they really did do this first and all of the remakes/prequels took notes from this play. That sub plot really comes back in a big way in the second half. The 11 o clock hour song of the musical is the REAL moment and I can't wait to see how it unfolds on the big screen.

I cant wait to see it. But after Cynthia's rant about the poster, i cant unsee that personality in the trailer lol

Yeah she really overreacted to the poster edits in my opinion.

I'm in the same boat. The poster thing I know she apologized for but the way she talked about the two other actresses that auditioned for Glenda? That was uncalled for. But! I love Wicked and I'm going to do my best and see Elphaba instead of her lol

Every single movie that has ever been made is political and every concept of good vs evil is the battle of one concept vs another concept. A movie being political doesn't mean jack squat. The quality of the movie around it's message is what will always matter and whether or not it entertains you and you have a good time. When the quality of the movie is good, that is all that matters. Even if you think the only non-politcal movies are those black and white 'artpiece' movies that show an egg on a skillet for 10 minutes and then the movie ending. But if you ask the people that make those movies they will give you a 30 minute diatribe about the deeper meanings behind it. So yeah, even those movies. What matters is two things 1) Is the movie good? 2) Does it entertain you? That's it.

The movie was honestly so amazing that I kinda' empathize with Cynthia Erivo as too why she got mad about that fan poster. When you're so incredibly invested in a character that they become a part of you, sometimes you can get emotional about a character in such a way. And she got really emotional about this role. She connects with it. I still think she got mad over nothing, but I can see WHY she got mad. Plus it also helps that she absolutely killed it as Elphaba.

Y’all know it’s common for adults of any age to be in college right? 30s is still young and it’s very common for people to be in college in their 30s, either advancing their career or starting a new one. I’m just confused by Martin’s statement.

I was a blubbering mess for the second half of the movie, Korey would have hated sitting next to me.😂

I’m offended that Cory is doing Green Face, such racism 😂🤣😂🤣😂

I think she got mad at the fan art because she immediately thought they OJ'ed her with the dark shadowing and got understandably reactionary thinking it was another racist hate-campaign attack like that of John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran getting bullied by racist Star Wars fanboys.

The movie sets were all practical. Everyone wanted to pay homage/tribute to all the actors and actresses who sing live eight days a week, so not only did they sing live but they turned the set into a recording studio as well.
@stevieg3761Ай бұрын
Hell no Martin, you don't sing at the theatre or the cinema. You pull that at the theatre and people will hate you for doing it. People paid for the professionals, man.

Ariana grande was on a teens/kids show that us 2000s babies grew up with. Her being a big singer out of no where was a huge twist even tho she could sing well on the show

Loved the review/especially being new to the material !CAUTION!:the book is *ALOT* darker than the Broadway show. just know the stage play is not as faithful to the book, as the movie was to the play. (Ie. Dear parents, Definitely vet it 1st before gifting to children for Christmas 🥴) But since waiting a year sucks, and the play is expensive; I hope anyone else new to the material gets their part 2 ending however it floats their boat best ❤ don’t let me caution keep u from reading away :) First time viewer/ new subscriber :) great convo guys! (And even better makeup 😅)
