Makes sense because as much as I want die hard fans to enjoy their experience, even if it's by singing along, it's incredibly annoying when you go to experience something for yourself and then other people feel entitled to take that away from people trying to absorb it in their own way. I have adhd so it's very hard to find movies that actually grab my full attention for long periods of time. This movie is 2hrs30min and I was into it the whole time. Saw it in 3d and dbox seats ($30/ticket) and I was absolutely blown away. I got to experience this movie fully immersed WITHOUT people singing thankfully and I'm so grateful for that.

This is the wildest, most offensive thing I have seen, Korey erased Cynthia Erivo from the thumbnail and put himself in it. None of this is funny. None of it is cute. It degrades her. It degrades us. She is a real life human being, who chose to look right down the barrel of the camera to you, the viewer… because, without words we communicate with our eyes. The thumbnail is an homage not an imitation, to edit her face and hide her eyes is to erase her. And that is just deeply hurtful... 😉

THANK YOU Korey for acknowledging that Wicked did the "that's how they got their *insert item here*" first - I'd argue they really did do this first and all of the remakes/prequels took notes from this play. They wove it all throughout (so many things come to light in ACT 2, so they're not even in this movie yet), it's actually a big part of the play for multiple characters - not just random items - and to me at least it makes sense. It's like Alien - you watch it now and it's just ALL the tropes...but it's the one movie that originally did the things that became tropes.

ANY fans of wicked and the theater should know AUDIENCE ETIQUETTE! Which means no singing/talking while watching a performance. It’s considered incredibly disrespectful to the actors who work hard so that THEIR performance is the main focus not some rando in the crowd who was fork #3 in Beauty and the beast in high school. Them being “excited for it” is no good reason to start singing in the theater. Korey is 100% right on this!

When I went to see it, I was fortunate enough to have nobody singing while the movie was going. Unfortunately, there were a bunch of teenagers screeching the Defying Gravity riff ( not singing , literally just screaming it) over and over again in the theater hallway when it was done. 😣

Speaking of singers who can act instead of actors who can sing, that was my one complaint about the casting. It was a minor complaint, but Jeff Goldbloom doesn't sing at anywhere close to the level of his scene partners. If they wanted star power, Hugh Jackman would have been a better choice. Goldbloom's a great actor for the role, but his singing voice is mediocre.

Just watched this movie. It was great. I didn't even think of the Tin Man, Lion, and Scarecrow getting an origin story themselves. It was hinted at, that the prince guy will eventually be scarecrow, the redhead guy that liked Galinda will be Tin Man and the Lion will just be one of the animals escaping capture in later films.

Every single movie that has ever been made is political and every concept of good vs evil is the battle of one concept vs another concept. A movie being political doesn't mean jack squat. The quality of the movie around it's message is what will always matter and whether or not it entertains you and you have a good time. When the quality of the movie is good, that is all that matters. Even if you think the only non-politcal movies are those black and white 'artpiece' movies that show an egg on a skillet for 10 minutes and then the movie ending. But if you ask the people that make those movies they will give you a 30 minute diatribe about the deeper meanings behind it. So yeah, even those movies. What matters is two things 1) Is the movie good? 2) Does it entertain you? That's it.

The movie was honestly so amazing that I kinda' empathize with Cynthia Erivo as too why she got mad about that fan poster. When you're so incredibly invested in a character that they become a part of you, sometimes you can get emotional about a character in such a way. And she got really emotional about this role. She connects with it. I still think she got mad over nothing, but I can see WHY she got mad. Plus it also helps that she absolutely killed it as Elphaba.
