Been following this one on FB, fantastically stunning as always, and I"m running out of adjectives to use to describe these videos that you grace us with. I love the changes of night and day through your shop window too. I"m going to go take some night classes in poetry or something so I can properly describe what it's like to watch these builds. Thank you again.

@2:30 - 2:45 do you attach the tiger maple with both a low angle AND and a high (~50 degree) angle? Wouldn't eh 50 degree give you the best finish with low chance of tearout? Wouldn't the low angle give the greatest chance of tearout?

Ive been anticipating a new video :) absolutely love your videos and work! I noticed the royal lac tag - im going to look into that stuff . I wish i could produce furniture like this. Maybe one day..lol thanks for sharing ur work. I have a question- On the "dovetail stairs" (as i call it) do u chisel half way through and then use the coping saw for the rest?? I think thats the coolest thing too btw:)

Watched several of your videos. Truly a master of your craft. I did notice, and am curious, you do not use wood glue (e.g. Dove tails). Maybe this question has been asked before and I did not see it. Is there a reason? Many woodworking videos out there recommend the use of wood glue.

How do you apply the dye w/0 getting any on the drawer sides? I know that it is labor intensive, but some bleeding into the poplar seems likely on these precision dovetails.
@joebigwood76059 жыл бұрын
It's just shellac, not dye.

As an aspiring woodwoker I am always amazed of the level of craftsmanship of your work however I wander is is possible to make a decent living out of commisioned woodwork. After all the time and hard labor put into each piece is there enough profit to build some retirement money?
