I keep quite bit of money in my main checking account, so I started a second checking account. When I am ready to leave on my journeys, I transfer from one account to the other. If I start to run low, I go on my bank app and transfer more money to the "travel" account. That way nobody has access to my prime checking account. Plus TSD posts running logs of your fuel purchases. I really like it.

If worried about the bank account aspect, then set up a separate bank account only for the purpose of giving to TSD…

I thought of that, but the problem I have is giving my SIN number to a retail store 😬. Their database gets hacked, expect identity theft to follow. It just doesn’t sit well for me. 🍻

LOVE any TSD card. Sadly it took me a long time before I learned about them, but the time savings is huge and the discounts are fabulous. To each their own.

TSD Logistics card is life changing! I haul a 44’ toy hauler behind a Ram 3500 Crew Cab Long Bed Dually. Essentially my rig is as large as many tractor trailers. Trying to get into a regular Pilot or Sheetz or other similar station can be very challenging. I would actually pay more per gallon just for the convenience of accessing a fuel pump that easily accommodates my rig. Doug is right. The TSD card is fantastic. I too have never had any issues. By the way, sorry for your loss of the Newell coach. Glad everyone got out safely. Can’t wait to see what you get next!

I’m an owner/operator, they’re a lot of fuel discount cards out there on the market. I just did a round trip from Florida to Connecticut and it was brutal with the fuel $2100! And I’m here sitting at a QT in SC waiting to top my tanks off before heading in to Florida.. the struggle is real.

It beets a van all to pieces. 25 feet long easy to take anywhere. Just Love the mini vacations Driving in My RV seeing America. 🇺🇸 down in Quartzite tonight at Quail Run RV Park. It’s clean affordable and full hook ups.

I've gotta side with Doug on this one. I have a 42.5' Class A and when a friend of mine told me about TSD Logistics I was all over it. If you have PayPal, which few people I know don't, you gave them your bank routing info to cover your Ebay, or whatever purchase, in case your on file credit card hiccupped or you had insufficient funds in your PP account. An additional service you can get with your TSD card is access to CAT scales without having to go in and pay.
@kevinm98602 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrew I hope your doing well bud. I have to chime in here, I have a friend that owns 32 C stores and I asked him about the cards. He said if you are willing to drive 2 miles into the town off the interstate you will see fuel for close to the price of the TSD card price. The disadvantage is getting in and out of the stores in town. I’m not doing the card either, just the way I’m wired too.

@shawnheaps85542 жыл бұрын
Actually by getting the fuel card and attaching it to your checking account is money savings and this is exactly what a person should do. At your bank set up a second checking account and this is for your fuel purchases and if you have automated tolls all can be paid through a secondary checking account before a trip moving what you feel you may need to purchase fuel and maybe cash advances and pay for tolls from your primary checking account and all this can be done on your computer this way if someone might get to your checking account they only have access to the second account never the primary. As my wife and I owned our own semi truck this is how we paid for tolls and fuel.
@terrysweat42042 жыл бұрын
We use the TSD card and love the discounts. We used one of our banks that we don't use that often just foe that. You have a couple days to move your cash over if necessary. Lol
@realfreedom50292 жыл бұрын
I’ve had TSD for years, and they are great. Now I will say, you should always get your receipt from truck stops and casino’s just in case there is an issue. We’ve had an issue with a casino in San Diego who overcharged us, fortunately TSD took care of us.
@robertmilam63782 жыл бұрын
I take a picture of the pump when I am done in case there is a problem. This saves me from having to go inside which is the secondary benefit of the card. Gets me back on the road quicker while saving money. Just find a bank with a free account and I don't think there is a downside.
@bradaden70012 жыл бұрын
Killing me that you’re still not on board with the TSD card. You gave your bank your SSN, you gave your credit card company your SSN. I would use it ever time if there were zero discounts just for the convenience of using the truck isles and not being the guy who needs to go inside to prepay. But clearly Doug couldn’t close the deal, thought he was a better salesman than that 🤣!

You've never had your identity stolen apparently!
@bradaden70012 жыл бұрын
@@DZCamaro-kz2vd there are trade offs in nearly every facet of our lives in what we choose to divulge. For example if you want a paycheck you WILL give that to your employer and/or quite possibly anyone else who fixes you $600+ per year. In that example alone hardly anyone questions the cyber security of that transaction. I happily trade my SSN with TSD along with probably 90% of the other Class A owners for the convenience and savings just as I’ve traded it for other things I’ve wanted/needed.

I have the TSD card for 3 reasons. Current discount a closest TA is $1.21/gallon. I am in and out truck stops quickly because you do not have to go inside to get the pump authorized. My wife was usually the one who would have to go inside to the fuel desk and doesn't have to anymore.

I have a TSD card also and like the other say if its simply about giving your SSN you do that all the time on other things and as far as the bank account get one just for the TSD card and put some money in it but all in all the TSD card is well worth it. Coming from a person who lives in SE MO there is no buckees or Truck Sams clubs pumps around hers if you travel other places you will see the difference. just my 2 cents. Good videos!

I have one of EFS card and yes, I had to give up my SSN. Some utility companies require a SSN, rental applications require SSN and so many other entities require SSN. I've never had any issues with my EFS card and user it everytime I travel in my campervan. The other day, I saved almost $30 in fuel and wasn't thinking about my SSN. The whole looking at your phone while your driving in order to find a fuel station, that shouldn't be a thing imo. I plan my travel route and put my start and destination location in the routing app and add the fuel station as a stop in my GPS app. I have a separate bank account and no overdraft protection for that account that's strictly for my EFS account and it's not linked to any of my "primary" banking accounts so I'm not worried about.

Just paid $4.04 with TSD on 3/12/22, closest Bucee's (Houston Baytown) was $4.79, Andrew still is not fully informed (well intentioned and entertaining yes) - set up a separate savings account and transfer in a set amount each month if you are worried about account access - the reality is there are all kinds of companies you allow to ACH your checking account already.

I am a big believer in the TSD card. The other problem is when you use a normal credit card you are usually limited to $100 or $150 per card per day. With today's diesel pricing you might need 4 to 5 credit cards.
@larryy95402 жыл бұрын
I have the card. But, it cost me more to use it. Have a diesel pickup. The only time I use it is if I am hooked up. Plus it sucks using it because my truck does not fit those bigger nosils in the truck lanes. So I have to feather the trigger to make it work.

I started using this a winter or two ago on the way back from Tucson to Seattle, the first COVID winter. I was skeptical but tried it anyway. We use truck stops and we were looking forward to not having to go in, especially during COVID. I screw up enough in truck stops and making truckers impatient and unhappy with me, having the co-pilot having to go in to arrange payment and delaying the lines, (and WTF do MoHo manufacturers put the DEF filler 35' behind the fuel fills and making it so one has to move forward for DEF and delaying things even longer... different rant, sorry). Anyway, delaying the line is always something I am self-conscious about. The TSD way worked just fine. We set up CCs and checking accounts just for this purpose and they have low head room to limit any potential mass exodus of monies (we are fortunate in that these extra CCs and checking accounts do not cost us extra). In the end, we saved A LOT on the way back, especially in Nevada truck stops, almost 50% sometimes. It paid for itself in two or three stops. However, this was not always the case and there were stops where we didn't save enough for bad cup of coffee. We do not use the price finding service, for me it just ins't worth the effort as I am more interested in making life easier (there is a limit of course), planning stops along non-interstate roads and highways and the TSD card does that.

I would never, especially with things the way they are now, ever for any reason give anyone access to my Social Security number nor would I give access to my Bank info....get a separate account just for gas and use that card, a credit card you use only for gas and then pay it off each month or get a gas card you can prepay and do that...

Good friends can disagree without being disagreeable. That's what I saw here. It is a preference thing. My insurance, electric, wireless and internet are all automatic payments each month. I would be the type to use the TSD card. Friends of mine don't want anyone to have access to their bank account. It is really just a comfort thing. The idea of not having to go in speeds up the process for the buyer and the others waiting to pull up to the pump; that is an additional plus in my book. But again that is my book, not the next guys. It is fun to watch you guys together.

I would like to see how he calculates his savings because the big truck stops typically charge at least 20 cents more for fuel than other retailers. So if these fuel cards get you a 20 cent rebate then you’re at break even comparatively. And with banking security factors in mot willing to give some company open access to my personal ss or banking info.

The truck stops have a built in cost for showers and other incidentals. Even though you are saving cost of off their pump price it is not always cheaper. As you said Andrew you can get it cheaper other locations you may not get DEF if you have a new model diesel. I have the EFS card and it is easier to get in and out. Loves are the worst about getting in and out. T/A Petro are the easiest for getting in and out.

When you're smart, and "guard" your accounts, the "defacto standard" is to establish a special "ACH" account which is SOLELY for the purpose of these types of transactions. That way, should any nefarious activity happen to that account, the ONLY liablity you are exposed to, is whatever balance you keep in that account. Gimme a break, though...for the ridiculous amount of money I've saved, (like over $75 on my first fill 2 years ago!), I'm more than willing to go through the one-time setup hassle, and the MILD amount of risk involved. A lot bigger fish in the ocean to worry about than the folks at TSD! OH, AND...remember about us who are in a 45' and are towing a truck. Hardly any of the regular stations will even handle that length. IF there were...and they were cheaper, I'd be there in a flash.
