The thing with JJ is that he (JJ) never said anything about Doc until Doc said he knew the Clipper teams weren't going to win a chip (because of the lack of leadership from the players). Eversince, JJ has framed Doc a certain way. Jamal Crawford has done the same thing.

JJs whole schtick is the players are never wrong. And it's always the fault of the media, management, coaches or fans. Every now and then he'll give some inside hoop perspective, which I like. But usually he sounds like he's president of the players union.

JJ is always trying to justify bad behavior and poor play from players. “Oh you’ve never played before, you don’t know what it’s like”. Does that give an excuse for a player to choke?
@MmaMadman85
@MmaMadman85 5 ай бұрын
No its not, he calls out players when they're wrong or playing poorly but he doesn't follow the normal media narratives and it rubs these journalist the wrong way. JJ saying that Doc refuses to take accountability by constantly throwing his players and teams under the bus while at the same time trying to take credit for things that had little to do with him in stuff like making trades or Boston's big three winning a chip despite him coaching them. KG, Pierce, Rondo, Allen are all legends in their own rights. They have 1 championship. Imagine if the Warriors only had one championship and it came in 2017. Now imagine everyone claiming Steve Kerr to be a HOF coach off of just one chip with a team that had KD, Steph, Klay, Draymond, and Iggy.

I disagree with Gottlieb: Redick is doing professional: being hired as a commentator to express his honest opinion. He gets paid to do that. Looks like Gottlieb is promoting favoritism. For whatever reasons, this is a business: ESPN hired Redick for talent and Redick took the job for money. Fair and square. You bringing in favortism issue is wrong: You degrade Redick, as if without Rivers, he is nothing? How do you feel if people say that about you. Will you close your eyes, shut your mouth, if you were Redick? In life, we support one another, and that is a good thing. You can say thank you, invite for dinner, send Christmas card or occasionally call to be friends. But you should be professional. Do the right jobs, speak from your heart. Favortism or Nepotism are wrong.

Not sure what and where JJ wanted the narrative to go about Doc, but as usual, it takes a life on its own. I would hope, behinds the scenes, he and Doc could air out if anything needs to be said. Doc is his own man and so is JJ. Their platforms for their voices just differ a bit now.

JJ was completely wrong does he not know what accountability is. How many times has Doc been fired in the past 6 years if thats not accountability then what is. JJ says a lot of stupid things. His Plumbers and fireman comment is still being tore apart by NBA greats. JJ loves to attack Micheal Jordan also but i guess its fun for JJ to insult and try to tear down one of the most successful black men in the history of the world.

If you think he’s smart, you’re probably not too sharp lol. He is above average, but is just really well-spoken. So he delivers his takes with conviction. But most of the stuff he says is from experience; the takes that come from extrapolating information are often cruddy lol. Talking about stuff you learned from experience is not smart. That’s like saying, this guy’s a genius! He showed me how to change a tire! No. He just did it before.
