Black Americans are amazing, and their love for this country despite how it treats them... Amazing.
@Dailymemes9000 Жыл бұрын
love is a strong word. i don’t love this country. you can’t love a place that treated you’re ancestors like that. like its amazing at this point. how evil and diabolical do you have to be to treat people like that who was fighting for this country? like imagine that. and they wonder why nobody wants to join the military. look how bad they do the ones they got now🤣🤣😂 but i appreciate the ones i see everyday that come across the world. the world is bigger then america. and i plan to explore it

Retired Air Force-- we did learn about General Benjamin O. Davis Jr. and the Tuskegee Airman. It's unfortunate that Hollywood doesn't get it.

I'm an angry old white guy (72). In 1958 or 59, I bought a book (one of many) from "My Weekly Reader" in elem. school. A biography: "George Washington Carver". That was in Salem, MA, where I also learned about the Boston "Massacre" and a man named Crispus Attucks. I've read alot since then, forgetting most of what I've read. I may offend some, but I've never been a fan of Black History Month or even "Black" history. It's American history and should be included in every era because Americans of African descent have created history in every era. There's way too much of it to confine to the shortest and one of the coldest months of the year😊. I can understand the need to highlight it though.

Well put. It's a shame there needs to be a month to highlight something that should be etched in history the same as other stories. Somehow we have people who believe in this fake made up confederate glorification but not stories like this and what you mentioned.

It's always interesting to me what people did and didn't learn growing up. I'm from Santa Cruz, CA, a super liberal surf town, and learned about Black history in our country, including watching & reading "Roots" in HS. My town & schools are about 90% white and nobody ever questioned any of the material. We learned about Attucks, Tubman, John Brown, etc... I'm 1st gen Dominican-American so I see our history through Black, Brown and White lenses. The concept of whitewashing history is somewhat foreign to me.

I wonder if this is why there's never been a movie about Frederick Douglass -- they'd have to pay his family.

Now you just need to turn it into a movie. Hopefully by anyone other than Tyler Perry. Unless you want "I Can Do Airport Security By Myself." Maybe Oprah would fund it.
