Unfortunately it’s not that simple. I’m hindsight you could say the foundation of the eagles championship team was chips. Kelly is far from a moron. He’s actually pretty brilliant as a football mind. His offensive style is tough to get professional on board with. But he knows football players and can evaluate talent. Howie had years to put a good team on the field and was below average as a gm in the drafting area. Since the super bowl he’s been well below average. Doug I think is a love him hate him type of coach. When he’s winning you’ll never want anyone else, he’s passionate, a good guy, players love him, an excellent motivator, and he calls plays like you would probably call plays from your couch. But he also will make you want to pull your hair out when they’re losing bc .. again. He calls plays like you and I would from the couch(going for it in spots that doesnt make a lot of sense, 80/20% split pass/run, clock management as bad as any coach out there)

@@jebadiahfyefye8994 that is incorrect. Chip Kelly only ran two drafts while he was in Philly and only two players that Kelly was responsible for drafting played in the SB. Nelson Agholar and Beau Allen and one other player who was a contributor but lost him during the season and that is Jordan Hicks. So his evaluations were not good. Howie built a very good team thru the years by drafting ( although there were a handful of bombs) and free agency.

I'm really not religious, I'm agnostic, but I still say he went Old Testament regardless of what is real and what isn't haha. Foles is religious, so I said it for him. He probably read some old testament stuff before going out there and bringing the pain. I'm very proud of Foles and the Eagles though. And I was just making a dumb joke, no need to get too technical with whether or not he "went this or that"

Nick Foles is and was by no means a back up qb. Yes they won the big game with a qb who was pushed to back up but by no means did they win with a back up. That was a solid team all year and their consistency in all play and positions led to this outcome. great team all season and exiting game.

Willie Daniels I have to beg to differ good sir. It’s not so much about religion but about the existence of God. Whether you choose to believe or not, a higher power does indeed exist and both you and I will answer to said power when everything in this life is all said and done. Also; to your main point, not everything is about religion. There are people who engage in it and there are people who don’t. The way society operates in this modern age it typically leans towards the more secular side of things. Men like Tim Tebow and Nick Foles are exceptions to that general rule and so when they profess their belief it draws a lot of attention simply due to the fact that it’s becoming a rarer and rarer phenomenon. We were created in God’s image and as such, each of us are given unique gifts or “talents” as you stated. Most believe it is brought about via their own making but at the end of the day they fail to recognize that all the glory belongs to God. Sorry if this sounds like preaching but believe me when I say it comes from a place of thoughtfulness and humility as I am flawed just as much as you and perhaps more-so in some cases. The Superbowl win is merely a testament to God using Foles (and others likened to him) for the furtherance of His glory. At one point in the video Nick states that he had considered giving up the sport but he chose to wait on the Lord, hang in there, and sure enough, he was rewarded 100 fold. There is a lot more going on in this world than we mere humans can even begin to comprehend. We make the mistake of thinking we are the masters of our own destinies but I can assure you there is One who would state otherwise. I hope you embrace this message in the spirit in which it was intended. Thank you and God bless!

I remember when Doug Pederson was hired and I was thinking, "Oh great, we have Andy Reid 2.0." The truth is, he did struggle last year as a play caller, but he has grown immensely as a play caller this year and the fact that he was wise enough and not stubborn to make changes to his offense for Foles, clearly shows that he is no Andy Reid 2.0. He is and Forever will be known as DOUGIE FRESH! So proud of you Doug, and thank you so much!

I said his head coaching had passed it's expiration date. I was wrong. I also said Jeff Lurie and Howie Roseman "Had no idea what they were doing" when they signed Sam Bradford to a lot of money for 2 years then "Stabbed him in the back" to trade up for Carson Wentz. WOW I was never so glad to be so wrong. If Jason Kelsey knew me he would have named me in his speech I'm afraid.

Just look at three of the four best teams in the NFC during the year, other than the Saints. They were all led by QBs that Jeff Fisher threatened to torpedo, Nick Foles after the injury to Carson Wentz, Case Keenum, and Jared Goff. All of them QB'd the Rams the last three seasons Fisher was their coach, and they were all pitiful with the Rams. Once they all got away from Fisher, we saw what happened. But it should be no surprise. Fisher is a disciple of Buddy Ryan, whose coaching philosophy regarding QBs was that their job wasn't to win the game, but rather that their job was not to lose the game.

Eagles y’all better not trade or release this humble guy here, y’all just won the city’s first ever championship, who cares if Carson Wentz is considered the franchise quarterback, could he have done what Nick Foles has done, if possible use both quarterbacks as a 1-2 punch one q.b starts the season and Nick Foles ends the season, see which quarterback has done a better job, y’all will lose my respect for that franchise, ask Nick Foles what he like to do in private meetings with Carson and Nick Foles in off season

Congrats & Thank You, Philly!! As a Steeler fan, if we can't win it, see the Asterisks lose is the next best thing and bringing a 7th Lombardi to PA isn't so bad either. I felt like I was watching the Steagles. Fly Eagles Fly!!

Thanks, tell me about it, waiting for "The Jesse James" rule next season. That number one seed and avoiding the Jags in the divisional round would have been huge. Honestly though, after seeing how the Eagles played Sunday I don't know that we would have beat them. Obviously, anything could have happened but I'd rather not go than go and lose, I'm happy for Philly.

Actually, does Philadelphia still exist, or did they burn it all the way to the ground? I saw about a dozen, what appeared to be pre-teen boys, flipping a car on twitter. Lol

Winning without Carson Wentz proves that the Eagle's were very humble. it shock's me that the Eagle's were trained by the Former Quarterback from the Green Bay Packers, won the Superbowl against the New England Patriots back in 1996. Doug Made the Philadelphia Eagle's become Legend.

The whole time they said that Foles can't beat this QB or this QB, now that he wins SB MVP they say there is a controversy. No matter what we do there will always be idiots who wanna create drama.

Shrek Gang Till I Die Overrated? Have you watched football the past 17 seasons? 5 championships, 8 superbowl apperances, 12 afc championship apperances, most playoff wins, regular season wins, best coach and qb tandum ever. Best QB ever and prob the best coach ever. Thats overrated? Then the eagles have been straight trash if we are overrated.

No offense to sean McCvay, but PEDERSON is the real H.C.O.T.Y. 2nd year and wins the SB. I know rams had a good year, but really. This guy offensive genius, not scared to make gusty calls, and always aggressive.
