My underrated starting word of Juice came in way handy today. By the 2nd guess the only possibilities I saw were 'jolly' and ''jazzy'. A rare 2 guess solve on a very hard word.

I failed today, my streak stopping at 291. Just my 6th 'failure to complete' from 648 games. Hard mode can be cruel at times. Why do you even bother doing HARD MODE??? You are setting yourself up for failure guessing words like this. There were people in Art's site that failed today in their present Wordle tournament because Art CHOOSES to do HARD MODE. Doug is very nice doing HARD MODE for some of you guys on Fridays.

In hard mode, this was even scarier! No evals and only a green O. Happy with a five today! I know of at least one person who went bust today, as you nearly did, but for a last minute thought. brave-found-hoist-polyp-jolly was my chain today.

Fortune did not favour the brave today but was on my side. A lucky three. HERON, JOUST, JOLLY. I took a risk on guess three with double LL but really just following my intuition - which sometimes pays off in wordle - but sometimes doesn't! Well played Doug!!

Very, very scary solve for me, especially considering I had three greens after two words. STARE, DOILY put me in great position. Or so I thought. I considered words like holly, lolly, nobly, molly, and polly, even though I wasn't sure the last two were even valid. So I figured I had four guesses and I could safely swing for the fences on my third guess. So I tried HOLLY, which at least gave me the xOLLY. I then assumed that LUMPY would give me the consonant I needed. Silly me. (In hindsight that was a poor guess.) It wasn't until after that struck out that I realized I had been so wildly off the mark in my thinking. I had overlooked words like folly, golly, jolly, and perhaps even colly. Only two guesses to go so I tried FUNGI to see if the F or G would start the solution. And even that was a whiff. Holy cow. Down to one guess and if it isn't JOLLY, my streak would be over. Streak safely at 216. But it wasn't easy at all.

Decided to be brave today, followed by doily and then got stuck on all the choices ….tried folly to test of there were two l’s. Yup…now what? My first letter could be a g, h, j, m, p, g, or even 3 l’s. Is there an eval word with 3 or 4 of those consonants? Gave up, tried Holly, then jolly….

Doug, be glad that this word did not appear on one of your HARD MODE Friday days. I never had the desire to do HARD MODE in Wordle since it becomes a guessing game vs. skill. Evaluation words become your friend and like you, Doug, I got the word JOLLY in six tries. This is my list of words,: POUND, LOOSE, FOLLY, GHOUL, LAMPS, JOLLY

JOLLY ended my streak today. I had a 158 day streak. On my sixth guess, I had a 50-50, either FOLLY, or JOLLY. I did not feel like a jolly good fellow when I failed today's Wordle! Lol. But I am looking forward to starting a new win streak, starting tomorrow, hopefully.

on my 6th guess I was down to (What I thought) was only FOLLY or LOLLY. Knowing that Lolly is more or less British slang, I went for what I thought was the sure thing, Folly. Then I was hit with the realization I had missed Jolly, and bam, my 200+ streak is gone. I do not know the exact number of my streak because New York times forces you to register now for your stats, which I refuse to do. Anyways, similar ending to yours, and both our streaks are crushed.
