Doug played REALLY tight last night, so he had the perfect image to pull this off. I cannot fault Ryusuke for making that fold. It's very likely your opponent is barreling with something much better than just top pair here... If you're playing 1/3 and you fold that, it's a bit of an iffy move. But if you're playing these high stakes and the guy is triple barreling HARD, it's not an easy call.

Nice line by Doug. 3 combos of 99, 3 combos of QQ, 4 combos of JTs, 3 combos of KQ, 3 combos of KK. There aren’t too many bluffs unless he’s 3betting AJo and A10o and triple barrel all combos. I think he 3bets AJs and A10s. That’s 8 combos of bluffs vs 13 value if you’re Rysk (since you block K.) It’s a call getting those odds, 8/8+13 = 38% and he only needs 33%. Especially if Doug is ever turning a hand like QTs and QJs into a bleff

@loose4bet

She raised from early position so the 3bet looks kinda strong and R cold calling out off position is almost certainly way ahead of JTo which is pretty weak for a 3 way 3bet pot. This hand has poor playability, most of the time you hold a 2nd pair with mediocre kicker by the river. It may be close but definitely not a wtf play.

@loose4bet
@loose4bet 2 жыл бұрын
You have to have at least some folds vs 3bet unless you have a massive skill edge (which she doesn't) and the 3better is hyper aggressive (which he isn't). Even if you take this hand as example with 18% equity she doesn't get the immediate odds to call here. A lot of people think they know poker strategy just by watching youtube clips and occasionally gambling in the casino. Without understanding even the basic math behind the game. The ultimate verification came with the solvers which proved that when it comes to pre flop holdem the tight aggressive approach is dominant.

Clear call on the river given the fact that Ryusuke just called 3bet preflop. AK was one of the hands Doug was representing here but Ryusuke has that. If Doug triple barreled into a 4bet aggressor his range would've been much stronger and river couldve been a tough fold for AK.
@pugsnhogz
@pugsnhogz 2 жыл бұрын
I don't see folks talking about sizing. IMO the sizing here was the cherry on top. Large enough to apply pressure, not so big that it makes Ryu want to hero call bc it's "so polarizing." Also Doug's body affect before putting the chips in. He really sold it that he wanted a call (seeming a little purposely hesitant, as if feigning indecision, etc.)

@asianphillippe007 2 жыл бұрын
@@Danicker No, you're wrong. She's in the middle after A K. Doug Polk re-raised with A J. But A K called, then she would just call. Another example, if A K re-raise, she would force herself to fold. That's how it works. J 10 is a great hand and would finish off on Doug Polk if he continues to bluff.

Hi guys, i have a question. I m a low stake tournamant player. Is this board a good candidate to bluff beacause of the 2 clubs on the flop ? Maybe he can see here just a missed flush ?
@colinmurphy3478
@colinmurphy3478 2 жыл бұрын
Its a good candidate to bluff because Doug blocks the J10 nuts and can credibly rep a lot of 2 pair combos, sets or j10. Also as the original 3 better, he should have all the KQs, AA, KK, AQ, maybe J10s. Ruske has some of those combos too, but the board is better for the 3better. Ruske should have just 4bet his AK instead of trying to play postflop with Doug who is likely a stronger player.

Airball with $500k in front of him today when he was afraid of calling with KK with QQQ on the board for $15k. Strange all around when you include his comments about other high stakes players.

Ryusuke issue is flatting a 3bet from utg when the button 3 bets. He should be 4 betting here every time.

@x305HuStLa
@x305HuStLa 2 жыл бұрын
@@mitchrapp5214 flatting here is bad and should be 4 betting a hand as strong as ace king most of the time. Button 3 bet is much wider. This is a clear 4 bet. Rysuke is just a bit passive from what I’ve seen.
