13:00 I love Doug Sahm for all of the great music and performances, but what he did for Roky makes me love him even more. Doug helped Roky put out his first single on Doug’s label, produced it and got him gigging again after getting out of Rusk. God bless Doug and Roky

Lucky to see Doug and the guys at Armadillo in mid 70s. When life brought me back to Austin in 82 was anguished to see HQ had closed. Managed to Doug and Alvin at a small venue. Wasn't the same but did get to share a joint with Doug before his set. The joy he brought to his music......

I was living in a small town outside of Kansas City, and during my senior year my girlfriend and I along with my mother went to visit my Aunt in Dallas, from there my girlfriend and I left Mom in Dallas and we went to Austin to see my cousin Phil , the second day we were there Phil took us to The Armadillo World Headquarters to see Boz Scaggs , it was great, at the time you could drink at 18 , I was in heaven, cold beer , great nachos, and great music, I knew that I was moving there , as soon as highschool was over I moved to Austin, two weeks later my girlfriend joined me, We saw some great music at The Armadillo World Headquarters, my favorite was Freddy King , Jerry Garcia played there alot also, Austin Texas in the 1970s was a wonderful place
