Traditional Country will always be the best music in the world! The Oppusum was near prophetic with his song: "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes?" The list is too long, but Doug Stone is on that list of great Traditional '90s Country that we took for granted then, but desperately want back!

What was so incredible about the time period of just absolutely country gold. It has shapped me into the man iam today. The songs tell a story and I've connected with so while since I was a youngin. Thank you Doug for implanting them country roots a little bit deeper. Country won't ever be the same

I worked for Doug for about a year and a half. I sang second part harmony and played acoustic guitar for him. He was one of the best guys I ever met in Nashville. He was ridiculously talented, and didn't even know how influential he was regarding country music.

I met him on his bus after a show he headlined at a local county fair in Antigo, Wisconsin, summer of 1991. I was the Afternoon Drive DJ for WDEZ-FM (Wausau, WI) at the time. Very gracious; pure country gentleman. 🇺🇸😎👍

I used to watch Doug performing at Gordon D's a long time ago. I would go in there with an Elvis impersonator named John and he'd be there. Last I heard, which was about 25 or 30 years ago, John had moved to Memphis.
