Why did he go all in with that 1st full house? chao ren had the straight. In the 2nd boat with 10's, he could have bet more to represent a bluff and chao ren could go for a check raise bluff?

2:48 as the beat drops, Doug proceeds to call and hits his flush. The combination of the song and Doug's face afterwards is just priceless. Almost looks scripted.

I used to like this channel, but this guy not only SUCKS at tournaments, I am starting to think he has never beasted anything at all.
@mattsmith14407 жыл бұрын
On the plus side though his taste in music seems to have improved roughly 1000% percent since I last exchanged words with him (quite some years ago now). A lot of players who have the misfortune of thinking entering a tourney is anything like a good idea tend turn into whiny bitches fairly quickly, something this dude seems to have avoided. All in all, I'm almost tempted to give this video a thumbs up :)

Question: What's with 29, 42, 56, and 74%? Any particular reason for those percentages? Same with the Big Blind ratios?
@woodysmith26817 жыл бұрын
Very curious since bet sizing is a big deal. If they are preset, that's worth knowing, as well as if Doug chose them and why he chose those sizes. In a transition live to online poker, being able to size your bets with greater precision is a skill.
@BlueEyesWhiteBoy7 жыл бұрын
Bet sizes are less of a deal than you think. I have studied this a lot. If you bet bigger, the bluff costs more, but you get more folds, and if you bet smaller, you get more value more often, but get less folds." -Doug Polk, QnA episode 3. 2016
@paulthrillington20217 жыл бұрын
Wasn't that specifically about cbets?
@woodysmith26817 жыл бұрын
Not 100%. But bet-sizing is a topic that's more open in online poker: auto-buttons that everyone recognizes vs. being able to bet 12% vs. 12.3%, etc. If there's no "there" there, I'd be happy to know that those are what the platform uses.

What is the significance of your postflop options (29%/42%/56%/74%)? Are they related to the equity of certain draws?
@lukec1547 жыл бұрын
no its just his preferred betting buttons eg 29% of the pot, 42% of the pot .. he chooses his sizing based on the texture of the board for example 74% (bigger sizing on draw heavy boards)
@shmuelgoodman807 жыл бұрын
Luke, thanks for the response. I get that those are his preferred percent-of-pot bet/raise defaults, but why set e.g. 42% as a default instead of something slightly larger or smaller? Is there any significance to those particular values?
@ayzee54807 жыл бұрын
Shmuel Goodman i guess its just some nice numbers. its not really important if u bet 42% or 44% but well...42 is always the answer. at least thats what im thinking. i have 42, 69, and 103. the First Two explain themself and 103 is just my fav Number.

I've got you turned up fairly loud just so I can hear your comments, and then it blows the fucking roof off when you do your celebrations. Could you look into normalising your audio, please. There is no time of day that's good to watch your videos for me, and I'm sure others will be experiencing same, even if they're not speaking up. Cheers.
