Titanus DOUG is unquestionably one of the most hilarious yet popular aspects with regards to the Monsterverse . He has been a meme material and social media sensation ever since he first appeared in Godzilla vs Kong 2021 . He also briefly appeared in the latest monsterverse Movie , “Godzilla x kong : THE NEW EMPIRE” . But doug might have a bigger role to play than just being a cute and adorable meme material within the Monsterverse . Yeah there were a few times where this Godzilla fought the military, but that was like twice in the whole movie, once when Zilla used that firebreath, and the other vs the 4 helicopters which were running away.

Godzilla's family seems to radiate an awful lot into various niches within Hollow Earth. We see some skeletons that look like Godzilla on a larger scale which may indicate a more primitive although a more apex Titan, Doug which seems to be the stem species in which Godzilla's other species radiated from and the argument could be made that Shimo is related to Godzilla as they are a similar size, build and share a distinct similarity in how their powers are used. It isn't out of the question that some of Godzilla's distant cousins evolved to be smaller and lighter in build but twice as fast and may even have a diverse social structure which leaves them with the potential to form packs. I can see that being a pretty good representation and explanation for Zilla in the Monsterverse.

I always had the idea of people taking many animals and experimenting with titan dna and trying to make controllable false titans/mutants. A bunch of marine iguanas mutated with godzilla DNA to make a swarm of zillas, all freakish looking and acts like raptors. With the leader of the pack looking the most like Zilla and the most aggressive. A bunch of eggs in many nest and at the end when all eggs and zillas are destroyed one egg is found by someone, it hatches and imprints on that person thus giving us a Zilla Jr in the monsterverse in the same vain as Godzilla the series.

I'd love for Zilla to show up in the monsterverse! But Toho, unfortunately, as of April 2021 removed the trademark for the name "Zilla" outside of Japan, meaning that Toho no longer has exclusive rights to the name in the US, or other, markets only the character model. Although Toho did license the character to Spiral Studios in 2023 for a 124 cm statue, which is still labeled as "Zilla". So maybe Toho will still allow the use of the name "Zilla" for merchandise based on the 1998 film, as long as the monsters are considered identical outside of name? I assume going forward anytime the Godzilla 1998/Zilla character model appears in media it will be called Zilla as I doubt it would be called Godzilla. But if Toho released the rights to the name in the US can Legendary even lisence the name? If they just licenced the character would they call it Doug, Zilla, Dougzilla or something else? 😂 I'm skeptical Legendary will try to use Zilla at all but maybe they will. If they do I'd love to see Legendary also lisence Gorosaurus. Then have a battle between Zilla & Gorosaurus as they are both cool but less powerful kaiju.

Jr. Plus the theme of the Monsterverse is nature yes Godzilla and Dagon were the last of their kind on the surface. There are more Titanus Doug species than just only one in the Monsterverse. Maybe some of them are already further in their growing stage evolution and maybe one of them is already fully grown as the 1998 Zilla. I would love to see Zilla back as Godzilla's sub family species like Shimu is as a redemption. Godzilla has atomic breath, Shimu has ice breath and for Doug Zilla they can give him fire breath or something similar like Godzilla himself. Every sub species of Godzilla will have their own elemental breath they fire.
