Will Godzilla 1998 ( ZILLA) join the Monsterverse ?

Godzilla 1998 is widely regarded as one of the most mid monster movies ever made in the history of cinema . However , with the rise in popularity of Godzilla especially with the introduction of the Monsterverse , this movie has been getting a lot more respect and attention recently . For me , Godzilla 1998 was the introduction for me to the real actual king of the monsterverse. This movie led me to watch the Toho Godzilla movies . The creature from the Godzilla 1998 movie is now referred to as Zilla in order to differentiate it from the actual Godzilla character . However , I feel Zilla could actually work within the monsterverse. This video contains the following subtopics :

It wasn’t the worst monster movie, it just wasn’t a good Godzilla movie. He was still a unique monster. I still enjoy it to this day. It has a lot of goofy humor and charm. But let’s be real, this monster is not Godzilla.

It is Godzilla it's a Godzilla that's way too bold in terms of design and what they did with him was also ahead of their time. ((And if you don't believe me Shin Godzilla and minus one (both Godzillas is being loved by fans and critics) are susceptible to Conventional Weapons just like a 1998 Godzilla) Hell the first Godzilla died to something that wasn't even street level because someone already made the oxygen destroyer in real life and spoilers it wasn't a good bomb, but it was very effective at cleaning fish tanks. It is also a good popcorn movie which a lot of Godzilla fans hate to admit that most of Godzilla films are popcornflix + guys in rubber suits. Whether we like to admit it or not that is the legacy of unintentionally built for itself. And it's stupid to say Godzilla can be anything until it's time for him to be something or not used to.

@@jag_rex2412 it isn't Godzilla. It's "Godzilla" or G.I.N.O when it comes to its own movie, but at the same time it just isn't the same iconic monster. Lacking in the same traits that make up Godzilla. If there was an actual Godzilla 1998 it be Zilla Jr, but his only on film big screen appearance was the end scene of GODZILLA (1998). GTS (1998-1999) is a great show btw with the actual Godzilla. That's why Zilla has to get another on film introduction so Zilla being in the monsterverse is the best way they do him justice with the amount of potential from the Hollow Earth.

With all due respect, Zilla won't be part of the monsterverse cuz he's literally another iteration of godzilla even tho he's not exactly like the character, plus toho dislikes the monster, views him as a disgrace, and is owned by a different studios such as Tristar. And besides legendary already created a whole majority of original monsters of their own and still plans on to do so in the future. So clearly it's better for legendary to create a new original monster instead of changing a character who's a different incarnation of the gman into another series.

I would love to see Zilla in the Monsterverse in the future. In fact, I have an idea for that: Titanus Jira (Zilla). In the animal kingdom there are species that appears to be others or imitate them in different manners or qualities. And so, Titanus Jira or Zilla is one example among titans as his species imitates some aspects of Titanus Gojira's species, as some kind of evolutionary method. The reason of why his roar seems identical to Godzilla's is because for making other dangerous titans to go away believing an alpha predator is near and avoiding possible clashes. Some aspects of his physical form are for that purpose too, but when all options are off and he must fight, Zilla can uses his true abilities: - Great physical strength. - Speed. - Agility. - Jumping abilities. - Sharp dorsal plates - Durability. - Intelligence. - Camouflage. - Power Breath. - Burrowing. - Amphibiousness. - Very light healing or regeneration factor. - His own version of the atomic breath or similar ability known as Nuclear Fire Breath.

I don't care the big G fans, i love the Zilla's character. Like a Godzilla movie it's a joke, but like an usual kaiju movie impressive. The 1998 movie was my first "Godzilla" in my life. I don't know how many times I watch this adaption. The animated series is one of my favorite kid show from my childhood. I hope soon i've seen Zilla's Monsterverse incarnation. (fun fact: the original godzilla character/franchise was unknown before the monsterverse in my country, exept one movie from the shova era, it has gain synchronization. Hi from Hungary.)

They should bring zilla jr in, or a zilla with hid abilities, it'd be cool if maybe they had a team of people like in godzilla the series that he works with to deal with threats throughout the world. Later on maybe even teaming up with kong or godzilla. Heck, maybe if godzilla dies at the end of the monsterverse (be it destroyah or whoever) he'll be the one to restore balance in his place. (For those unaware, zilla jr is the son of 1998 godzilla ((zilla)) from the animated show godzilla the series. The show is literally what the movie shoulduve been and had all the things it was missing. Zilla jr had really cool neon green atomic breath, was noticably larger, tanked several of the missiles his mother died to as a juvenile and lived, then took two more later on as an adult and was uneffected. He pretty well could do everything normal godzilla could, plus all of 1998 godzilla abilites like digging and leaping. The show consisted of the team and zilla jr taking down various kaiju throughout the world including cyberzilla who is excactly who you think it is. Bring back the g-man! C'mon!

If Legendary gets to have Zilla in the Monsterverse, the best way to do it is to introduce it as a Subspecies to Godzilla's kind. Also give them the capability to make underground tunnels or something (Since the '98 Zilla can do that, I think).

Nice video but if Zilla was introduced in the Monsterverse here’s what I think would happen let’s go Firstly Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures would have to buy the rights to the character from Toho Company Ltd as they own the design and character Secondly some people that are either or not in the Godzilla fandom will still despise the character due to his original movie thirdly once they have the rights to the character I doubt that they would have any creative control of Zilla as I think they wouldn’t make him a subspecies of Godzilla due to the criticism of the character as he would be his own thing maybe they would make him a imitator titan species that would copy the behaviours and ways of the Godzillas for their own benefits and fourthly it would be a nice tribute to the first American Godzilla movie as we would have the two American versions of the character coexisting now

Its not the worst monster movie, its just not traditional Godzilla movie, the movie itself is fun and good introduction to Godzilla world. And oh yeah, in Godzilla Minus One, his first appearance at Odo Island, look eery similar to Zilla, and I think its intentional, Zilla is like Godzilla before evolve. And this Godzilla evolution concept also exist in Shin Godzilla. So maybe, if Godzilla 98 has a sequel, I think his evolve appearance would more Godzilla-esque than Zilla.

I would put that Zilla could be indeed a sub Species of Titanus Gojira. Yet, you are forgetting that the sequel to the 98 Godzilla did happen as a Cartoon series, and it was not just popular but even praised by TOHO and Japan, because the Main Kaiju was tons better than its parent, and did have all of the established Godzilla powers. This led to TOHO renaming the Animated Kaiju as Godzilla, while its movie parent is still called Zilla. Heck, my personal idea in the Monsterverse was to have Zilla be the infant version or teenage version of Godzilla, giving it a look as if the Kaiju is weak when young until it matures and becomes what we know as the Godzilla we have and love in the Monsterverse.

Prior to the movie I was extremely disappointed when he was simply taking out by the airforce with missiles seeing that made me mad however he did have one baby zilla that survived at the end of the movie so I don't see why zilla shouldn't have a title shot..unless they used that in godzilla final wars.
