But life in Charlotte shifted to the hills of North Wilkesboro. The Yates family uprooted, and went to work for NASCAR car-owner and folk hero Junior Johnson.

I knew Junior well! Miss him dearly! But yeah he was the boss! I remember all of these guys! Great bunch of men! Junior didn’t care much for DW! Yep breakfast out in the garage! Doug was a good kid! His Daddy a great engine man! Miss those days!
