Hey Doug I am from chittagong. This place is relatively more beautiful during rainy season , I still remember riding till there(Sandip ghat) and Akhilpur beach and it was around 5-5.30 am that place was really great . The distance was around 56km for me😂 but definitely worth it

Chittagong which is now officially known as Chattogram is one of the most beautiful city in Bangladesh.. Chittagong is quite different from other parts of Bangladesh traditionally, culturally.. You should try our traditional mejbani food.. You should visit Bhatiari, Chittagong University (one of the most beautiful university in Bangladesh), Khoiyachori, Napittachori , Bandarban, Rangamati those places represents how naturally beautiful Chattogram is..

It's not a different language in Chittagong rather a different "dialect" of Bangla. Each district has its unique dialects there. Hope that's clear, Doug! :)
@GUULLIVER
@GUULLIVER 2 жыл бұрын
That's debatable. Chittagonian is a peripheral dialect in the Bangladeshi _dialect continuum_ and it it's too much mixed with other non-Bangla bordering languages and historical languages (eg. Arakanese, etc) and therefore too far away from Bangla to the point of being almost totally incomprehensible and unrecognizable by other Bangla speakers to be considered a part / dialect of Bangla. In my view, it's an independent language as Doug's guide has said. The guide is right!!
@maheen1917

For the city, see Chittagong. Chittagonian (চাটগাঁইয়া Caṭgãia or চিটাইঙ্গা Ciṭainga) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in parts of the Chittagong Division in Bangladesh.[3] Its speakers identify with Bengali culture and the Bengali language,[4] but Chittagonian and Bengali are not mutually intelligible.[5][6] It is mutually intelligible with Rohingya and to a lesser extent with Noakhailla. It is estimated (2009) that Chittagonian has 13-16 million speakers, principally in Bangladesh.[7] Chittagonianচিটাইঙ্গাচাটগাঁইয়াPronunciation[saŋʈgaiyaŋ] [siʈaiŋga]Native toBangladeshRegionChittagong regionEthnicityChittagonian Native speakers 13 million (2006)[1] to 16 million (2007)[2] Language family Indo-European Indo-Iranian Indo-Aryan Eastern Bengali-Assamese Chittagonian Writing system Bengali-Assamese Language codesISO 639-3ctg Linguist List ctgGlottologchit1275Linguasphere73-DEE-aaThis article contains IPA phonetic symbols. It is derived through an Eastern Middle Indo-Aryan from Old Indo-Aryan, and ultimately from Proto-Indo-European.[5] Grierson (1903) grouped the dialects of Chittagong under Southeastern Bengali, alongside the dialects of Noakhali and Akyab. Chatterji (1926) places Chittagonian in the eastern Vangiya group of Magadhi Prakrit and notes that all Bengali dialects were independent of each other and did not emanate from the literary Bengali called "sadhu bhasha".[8] Among the different dialect groups of these eastern dialects, Chittagonian has phonetic and morphological properties that are alien to standard Bengali and other western dialects of Bengali.[9] Phonology

Nice story and very inspiring. I very much noticed the many shops selling items salvaged from the dismantled ships. Looks like it is affordable to put a small boat together in order to tour the many water ways of Bangladesh. These larger life boats can be easy improved for such a purpose. I guess they also sell diesel engines to fix on such a boat. Looking forward to do this ...

Breaking ships involves lot of Bio Hazards... and breaking almost every Environmental laws. Actually The ship breaking industry works in this way. If you try to respect all the laws then breaking ships won't be economically justified. That is also the reason most of the American, European ships sold to India & Bangladeshi ship breakers because environmental laws are comparatively flexible around here. The reason the brokers didn't like foreigners with cameras is every year many foreigners from many organizations visit this ship breaking yards with their concern over Environments. And their vlog, reports, publications causes problems for the yard owners. That's why the foreigners are not much welcomed there.

Nice drone shots 👍🏽 This is recycling on a mammoth scale, as I understand this area is the largest shipping grave yard in the world. The parts are used to rebuild new boats or ships that are of different sizes and then sold to clients both in Bangladesh and abroad. This also provideds jobs for the local community and contributes to the economy and Eco-system of BD. All ships are professionally checked under international guidance & regulations for its mechanical use, health & safety etc.. before it is sold to any clients. Lovely vlog, thank you for sharing this with us. Much love from Sylhet.

They didnt let him inside because they know people of US likes to show all the negetivity of 3rd world country and you guys like to enjoy such type of content.I can assure you there is no child labour inside.Yeah, there are hard working people but it's not like someone forced them to do so.A while ago A Romanian couple( their channel name dodo explolers) visited this area and they got permission.They didnt show any negetivity.Moreover they mentioned there were some hard working person.Even famous youtuber 'Joe Hattab' (about 10 million subscriber) also got permission to make a shot there.You wont find any child working in those videos.Stop spreading negetivity.Just praise how hard working they are.
