Great video, When I do my CVs, I put some grease in the drive flange then assemble the CV dry. Once its bolted in, I use the needle adapter for the grease gun to fill the rest of the CV. Makes it much easier to handle!

I retired from the Timken roller bearing company and their rollers are made from Case-carbonized steel. Not sure if your Balls are that hard but I know you can’t mark them with a file. HTHs.

Great explanation , I have always run 930's, But that Toyota plunging CV axle is interesting, I wonder if anyone has or makes the Toyota plunging CV that would fit on the transmission side ??.Great video

I think RCV would, they make a complete axle for the Tacoma. But all I was interested in was the hub side, so I never even looked at the transmission side.

Those CV balls are usually made from race grade unobtainium.

Very Good,,,Was told on my Class 5 Care years ago to cover the Axles with something to protect them from Impacts from Objects. Ya going to the Mint with NTD? Pre run with your Bug?

Yeah, I need to get something over those. This would have been the perfect time to do it. All I can say is with all the things going through my head this wasn't one of them. But I have wanted to cover them. I spoke with Dave about the Mint, but I'm not going with them. I'd love to, but it gets difficult to get that much PTO to do things like that, and also do personal trips with my wife.

Nope, never did. If you find any let me know. Apparently being 30 spline is not a common size.

No luck from me. I’m considering getting a 33 spline Silverado hub and see how a 930 micro stub fits. It’s hard to get real dimensions on parts so might have to just buy it.
