Thank you for saying the Sponge Bunnies is in your top 3. The origional effect was created by Tom "Silky"Sullivan, with help from Karl Fox and Ron Baurer. It was originally called "Silky Sullivan's Multiplying Rabbits," then sold to Abbots Magic about 70 years ago. My father, Tom "Silky" Sullivan, taught me how to hand cut the rabbits in the 1970s. THANK YOU this is the tutorial I needed. The little tips you provide, like moving your clean hand first, and the fact that this is a proper video - that is stuff you'll never find in a magic book. Understanding vanishes for sponge stuff always eluded me as something really difficult to make look realistic... despite anything I've read or seen on french drops or retention vanishes. Yours just makes a lot more sense!

I’ve been performing the bunnies for many years, and it definitely gets great reactions ! In my routine, I secretly have the baby bunnies under my arm ( armpit ). That way I can show both hands completely empty, and when the spectator opens their hand to reveal that they’ve got two, I briefly cross my arms and say, “Well, would you look that. You’ve got both !” secretly stealing the babies. 😎👍

Been waiting for this one!!! Ty. Such a good trick and wanted all your thoughts on this. I saw that Papa Rabbit was being re-released by Murphy’s next week. Do you have experience with that? I know it’s just a few minor changes but are they even worth it? Daryl is a legend though so I imagine yes. I’ll grab it.

We used to do this one all the time at the legendary New York Lounge in Chicago. One reason that the Bunnies is such a good trick is that it was invented by Robert Nelson - a *Mentalist* who understood the psychology of the trick and how to create false expectations, essentially leading the audience down the garden path and then turning on the sprinkler system.

I used have a set of red bunnies with a large red sponge numeral 4. I forget the maker. I'm talking over 50 years ago. They were fun to work. I enjoy working multiplying billiard balls and then I seen a man working soap bubbles. I wish I knew where he got them. I purchased a set just recently from Amazon. They are TRASH because you can see the seams and glue on the bubbles. The plastic shell ok but I can't find exact fit for real crystal which would be too heavy anyway I tried. His bubbles had to be glass hollow balls. Any clues sir where to purchase something like that???
