CORRECTION! The K900 is only offered this year with a turbocharged V6, with no V8 option. Big thanks to C&D and Motor Trend for getting this wrong. Last time I rely on them for info! www.motortrend.com/cars/kia/k900/ www.caranddriver.com/kia/k900

I own a 4.9 meter length car, and i don't have any blind spots on my sides. the reason people have blind spots it's because they adjusting their mirrors to show their cars, that way they're wasting mirror-space that can be used to show the surrounding lanes. It's also a big mistake to think that automakers are so high-tech today, but the engineering have such a primitive lack as "not showing all the view i need in the side mirrors". The reason Kia added this camera feature it's because, time after time, automakers have to correct drivers with their stupidity, and help them make less and less thinking and acting. (That's funny when thinking about that, they added DRL lights instead of just making the headlight to work all the time).

Honda has stopped making those because simple blind spot lights on the side mirror are easier to use. Camera gives lots of information, but when trying to change lane quickly, it does take more time to absorb all info camera gives which is longer than "is the blindspot light on?" (simple yes/no question)

I have owned one of these myself for a year and a half now. Same color. Luxury trim. If ANYONE has the chance to buy one, go for it! Especially a 2019 model with lower mileage. Around 25k right now. It’s worth every penny. If you are anything like me, who appreciates a car that must satisfy luxury+power+rarity/uniqueness, it’s hard to get any better than this. The first year I’ve had this car I lived in Washington DC and I cannot express the amount of attention and compliments it has received. Fast forward to now and I’ve since moved to Europe (I’m in the military) and shipped the car with me, I expected it to blend in better amongst the European car enthusiasts but it turns heads EVERYWHERE I go. Going out on an evening/dusk drive when those stacked LED daytime running lights are lit up is such an experience. It has such a presence. I still can’t believe Kia doesn’t get credit for this build let alone they still don’t make it in the US.

It would be impossible with the current technology. For a car to get a perfect 100 Doug score, it would need to look amazing to Doug, have a 0-60 time under 3 seconds, handle like a Lamborghini Huracan, be insanely fun to drive, be the coolest thing on the road, have absolutely groundbreaking technology and features, Rolls Royce quality with Honda reliability, as practical as a minivan, and have unparalleled bang for your buck and resale value. No car in the next hundred years will even come close to that type of driving and ownership experience.
@tenzinsmith
@tenzinsmith 4 жыл бұрын
Because many of the categories (especially when comparing the weekend to the daily ones) are inherently contradictory. By making the car look better or go faster, you limit its cargo space and fuel economy. By producing limited amounts (driving up the “cool factor”) and using high- end materials, you lose out in reliability and value. This goes on and on; you can’t have it all. And I’m actually glad you can’t, or else there would be literally one car on the road haha.

Kia is knocking it out of the ball park. The Kia Soul is the best bang for the buck car on the market. The amount of stuff packed into their fully loaded versions is just awesome. Great sound system, smooth ride, low cabin noise, great technology, etc. I'm glad people are finally recognizing Kia for what they are doing. Then add to that their reliability scores, the lack of car issues, their amazing car warranty, and you have something truly special. Kia is changing the car industry. Some manufacturers are getting out of certain car markets (like ford not making sedans anymore)and they have Kia to thank (blame) because of their success.

The lock button for the real climate controls and stuff is probably so that when you have that center console down, resting your arm on it, if you bump any of the dials or buttons you wont change any settings accidentally.

No one wants to buy them because the lease deals for this car is close 1k a month, for a damn Kia. You can get an S class for that money. And no one wants to finance it because it's going to depreciate fast as shit. Also its ugly from outside.

So a luxury car can do 0-60 in 5.7 secs and gets a 4/10. Just one of many examples of why Doug's scoring is stupid.
@kwalterrasquinha413
@kwalterrasquinha413 5 жыл бұрын
Its compared to sports cars...for the same reason supercars get 1 in practicality cos they're compared to suvs...they cancel each other out and make it simple, otherwise you've to compare supercars to other supercars and suvs to suvs, and the end result is that all receive the same score which is pointless

@@kwalterrasquinha413 That's stupid, no one buys sports cars for practicality and luxury sedans for performance. So, having a unified scoring system is stupid, to begin with.

@@RaghunandanReddyC exactly my point. What i meant was since the system is unified a luxury car doing 0-60 in 5.7 is no where near what a koenigsegg will do. And since thats what they're compared to, its pointless

The K900 strikes me as a properly good car that lacks a market in the US. It's pointed at old conservative people (conservative meaning their tastes, not their politics), but those people are the least inclined to buy Korean because their conservatism steers them to established luxury brands. Turn the K900 into a sportback with funkier styling and aim it at people 20 years younger (who are willing to try Hyundai/Kia out, if they haven't already in their lives), and this could be a genuine hit here, like a Korean 6-series Gran Coupe. Market it as the Stinger's big brother and the company flagship, with a focus on technology and prestigious luxury.

Im 18 and would buy this if I could. Kia is probably investing in younger people. They know they want sell these I think they just want to change their brand reputation. You know, to kill the its a kia argument. Maybe guys like me will know kia as a luxury brand in 10-20 years
