It is interesting that Doug just now sees the potential that electroc drivetrain gives in terms of pedal reaction etc. Ryan at Fortnine (motorcycle channel) always used that as massive advantage, you can have one motorcycle and it can be easy to ride like a scooter, have a reaction of 2stroke engine, have cruiser power curve or instant torque reaction, with better traction control if you want it and I always agreed with that, thought it is obvious

Its always weird to hear they made only 20,000 of these. I cant quite word just how popular they are in the UK. Back when i was a kid, there was a car dealer on the "car dealer street" in the nearest big town to me and their forecourt was at least 90% figaros and whenever the sun comes out youre guaranteed a figaro or 2 still.

Subject for you: Ferrari does not grant licensing to common toy car manufacturers like Hot Wheels or Matchbox. All other exotic car companies do. I notice my pre-teen son and his friends dream of owning Lamborghinis, McLarens, Pagoni, etc but have no interest in Ferrari. Do you think this will have a long term affect on Ferrari desirability to that generation?

I used to have one of these as my daily. You have now idea how many people came up to me to ask what it is, took pictures, and generally LOVED the car. It was usually older people that were the most excited about it. Definitely has a special place in my heart.

I’ve had two Jetta’s now. A 2001 diesel and a 2013 SEL. Always been a fan and considering going back to get a new one later this year! My diesel got over 300,000 miles on it. The 2013 hit over 100,000 before I was hit and it got totaled but it never had any major problems other than carbon buildup.

Wanna know where does HP have the money from? Check who makes the computers for most new electric cars. Or who sponsors the EU in making eco friendly decisions about cars. It's all a big lobby.

As an Audi Owner that Q4 Sportback is absolutely crap and I can’t believe people say that looks better than a Tesla. The Q4 in general is almost intentionally ugly compared to the rest of their SUV lineup.

My first car in 1992 was a 1973 Fiat 850. My friend bought the same one. We discovered Abarth. We started to visit every scrapyard we could find to see if there was any Fiat 850 or Fiat 600 there with some Abarth parts. And we would find a lot. Enough to build ourselves Abarth versions of our Fiat 850s. I remember my 1000cc engine would rev to 12.000 rpm and scare the living daylight out of any BMW 325 at the lights. Later we moved on to Lancia Betas, Deltas, Fiat Uno Turbo, Fiat Spiders and eventually the Lanicias, Fiats and Alfas from the 60s. Since a young age, I have been into cars, and I am a walking encyclopedia when it comes to cars form all over the world. But the Fiat 850 I bought when I was 18 in 1992 was bought purely because it was cheap. I dreamed about an early 80s 3-series BMW, but I didn't have the money. Today I love cars from Italy. And still own some of them. And my daily driver is a first-generation Fiat Multipla.

Doug, love the pod, but you've got to keep a lid on your geographical bias. Here in New England hill country, there are at least ten Legacies in every shopping center parking lot, and you can go ten months without seeing a single Charger.

To be fair, unlike the nose of the M3 / M4, the looks of this are growing on me. The bigger issue that I have tho is the iDrive8 (or as Autotopnl referred to it once, the "idrive hate"). Like seriously? A 450+ hp stickshift sporty car and you have to look away from the road to adjust anything? (BTW this is my beef with most new cars btw.) Keep the A/C controls physical, keep a couple of actual buttons. The pre-facelift M3 / M4 interiors were SO good, the perfect blend of physical controls for less distractions and muscle memory, and tech for gimmicks and extra features.

It’s not a scaled down US car of the 1950s, its a design based on the German Gutbrod Superior, which was also a small car (length: 3.6m) with the same style convertible top. By the way, the Superior was one of the first production cars in the world with fuel injection 1950-1954!

Nice truck but I hate the seats. I will never understand how car companies make heavily bolstered narrow seats without the ability to adjust the bolsters (I know some are adjustable but all should be). It’s like making a jacket in only one size.
