can we talk about patrick (and bree) for a second? you said they had major behavioural issues or something along those lines when you first met them. in every single one of your videos that ive watched with them in, they're so extremely down to earth, kind, well mannered children. it's very surprising to hear they had significant issues with their behaviour because the two people that i see they've become today, you wouldn't for a second think that they had those struggles in the past. proud of you alicia & josh for giving them love, and allowing them to become a true inspiration (: edit: ive read some of the replies. i only "name-dropped" them because alicia has spoken about this publicly. i completely understand people saying it's embarrassing, but i don't think there's a right or wrong in whether you choose to share that information or not. i would hope that any of the children if they didn't feel comfortable with information being shared, would explicitly say that to their mum, and likewise i would hope she'd listen. but maybe the children allowing their mum to show their life helps them see their progression as beautiful people and show life has its ups and downs but you can still find light. showing that as bluntly and publicly for some might give them a place of comfort where they can see their story, not be ashamed, and meet other people with similar experiences or people who are proud of them. equally other children may not benefit from that at all, and would much rather blossom in the comforts of their privacy. i guess it's each family to their own, and if it does come out that they are no longer comfortable or alicia/josh do not approve of this comment and it's name referencing then that's completely fine, and i shall remove this comment! i just wanted to state that i truly find all of her kids so inspirational and worthy (:

I also love how ypu allow them to have as age appropriate gifts as possible while still keeping their safety and abilities in mind. I have to say one more thing..Please continue to be as real as you can in your videos. Screw the people who are constantly criticizing the way that YOU choose to raise your children… Living in South Dakota this is very realistic as to how my father planned my birthday party as well… Obviously not as many supplies because I was not a family of 14. Oh my goodness there is now worst then trying to wrap gift as the minute and the bike that Patrick is also be going to get is going to blow his mind away. It’s really so lovely to see ur bigger an smaller children help u as much as they it’s showing me that how close ur family of 14 really are very special bond between all the kids it may have been if u ask for help but I herd very clearly the kids were saying I want to help as well it just melted my heart well done and to the kids off all age that was very nice of u all to chip in for a mum or dad have asked to help shows that mum and dad are raising these children in a beautiful way that help I love it. Hi dear Alicia! For the first sorry for my bad enghlish, I write from Italy. I love your family a lots, it's the family I dreamed when my parents passed away and I was alone in a big city like Rome and no one take care of me. I was 17 years old but I was so angry whit the life that I choice wrong way and I suffered a lot.I know that if I was so lucky to meet a family like yours and a second mom like you my life could be better. So, thank you for all you do for this kids,! Now I'm mum of a "man" of 25 years old who is my life!! Please, never stop to help this kids , in Italy is very hard to adopt kids and a lots of kis grow up in institute whitout a family and this is very sade. Yay! Love your party prep videos! Patrick is such a sweetheart. Ripe pineapples are golden yellow, no green. Pineapples with green will ripen overtime, but if eaten while green the flesh can be a little tough.

I remember my 14th birthday party. I wanted a Monopoly themed birthday. My mom worked so hard on making it work. I had red, yellow, and light blue colors, there was actual monopoly game pieces used in the decorations, my mom got creative with doing some sort of train that said Reading Railroad on it and it had presents to deliver to me. Every present I got was Monopoly themed: Limited Edition Monopoly Match Box and Hot Wheels cars, pinball machine, shower curtain, bath rug, towels, soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, trash can, tissue box holder, bedding, lamp, wall clock, clothing, Monopoly board game sets that I didn't already have at the time (I now own about 75 different versions of monopoly lol 😂). It was one of the best birthday parties I had. I hope Patrick enjoys his 14th birthday and much as I enjoyed mine.

I have a couple of tricks for picking a good pineapple! The first one is the smell! If it smells very sweet and very pineappley it’s ripe! The second one is to find the leaves on top that are in the very center, pull on one of them and if it comes out easily it’s ripe, if you have to tug on it really hard to get it out, it’s not ready!

Picking out pineapples 🍍🍍: the more yellow they are the more ripe or perfect, the more greener they are they are not as ready. Also you can tug at the leaves & if they pull off easily they are good to go 🙂

I love watching your videos. With my OCD/I am an organizer... I especially love grocery shopping day seeing all the stuff you buy. It calms me inside. But, my favorite 2 parts of every video are "But first, coffee" and what you say at the end of every video. Makes me feel good.
