Last week, I took delivery of a pair of 8" Marins from Brunt. It was mid morning, when the delivery truck pulled in, and I was already up and about the homestead, clearing brush from a swath of the yard. Immediately, I went in the house and put the new boots on. I got the composite toe model. I do many different types of work here, including moving logs and large rocks, and some heavy'ish equipment, and some toe protection is a must. I worked in them for over eight hours, that first day and, pretty well, broke them in. They are very comfortable, and I've worn and worked in them more than twelve hours a day for a solid week. So far, I am very happy with my purchase. I agree with you, on the tongue issue, but, like you intimated, it's not a deal breaker. I'm glad to see you've worn them a couple months without a problem. I think they'll last me a few years, at least.

No, I didn't treat them with anything. Usually this is the first thing I do before I even wear them. But in this case the boots were given to me by BRUNT Workwear to review. The web site says the boots are water resistant, so I tested them as they come right out of the box. I was impressed with the water resistance. Now that the video review is done, I will treat them with mink oil. This also might change the appearance (darkening them, etc). That's fine with me, but I wanted people to see how the boots look new. Yes God is blessing me abundantly. These are really nice boots.. Thank you, Pastor George. God bless you, too

I have been wearing mephisto hiking boots for 2 decades and I love them. These look fantastic for the $139 price though. The Mephistos are $500 and I have had them reconditioned at the factory twice. Which costs $150 each time. But a high price doesn’t give you everything. Yes the Mephisto is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn but the stitching on the top eyelet keeps coming out. The manufacturing on yours looks just as good or better. If they fit your foot well they are a great find.

Wow. I don't have Mephistos so I can't compare the two. If the manufacturing one these is as good or better then that's pretty amazing given the price range. Thank you for your observations.

How them on the rocks the fine stuff on the mts o had pair all beans I hit them little rock on the rocks and my feet would come out from me !

@@smd482000 The soles have lugs that are good on small, loose rocks. -within reason. I mean there is only so much that any boot can do. Some of the trails here in NH end up like that. I think it'd be more common for me when I'm walking in a dry creek bed.
