It's good to see someone like you using the most sensible equipment to shelter from below zero temperatures. I see so many campers using nothing but pine needles and moss which will never stop the rain.
@DougShoeBushcraft9 сағат бұрын
that's a different genre of video IMHO. This is a bushcraft / survival channel and I also cover shelters made from natural materials. Yes, pine needles don't do much. I prefer bark shingles. Moss works well, though

Why are you making a tube vid? If you have this capability go rent a hotel room. Where do you charge your phone/camera? Food?, water?

Mistake # 1 wrapping and trapping moisture inside your tent. I am homeless as well and i cut my teeth in winter. I made alot of mistakes and learned from each of them. I would agree that the tent needs protection but to not vent it is very bad. Your breath will have the interior soaked by morning.... a tarp on a ridge line or an a frame setup will be much better. A 3 wicked candle will heat the tent nicely. And those blankets would serve you better on your body.
@DougShoeBushcraft11 сағат бұрын
The interior wasn't soaked in the morning. Extremely cold weather doesn't hold as much moisture. I could vent by unzipping the door

I like your attitude towards live, not many problems but many challenges and what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Very true words. 👍👌👊.

I used to put the blankets on first so they are under the tents fly.... to help keep them dry... I would try and leave the snow on the second roof actually adds insulation ... The cut off the tarp you could also seal the front and make a door in the second roof.. that how we do it in northern Ontario

I have a authentic deerskin Lederhosen outfit complete with the hat and feather that I bought about 20 years ago! Growing up as a child my uncle was stationed in West Germany and sent me a childs size Lederhosen in the mid 60's, I still have them to this day! My family left Germany in 1836 and settled in the Ohio river valley west of Louisville, Kentucky!

Wow. That's great. I have distant German ancestors. I think I'd have to go back to around the time of the American Revolution. My wife has relatively recent German immigrants to America in her line

I watch a lot of survival videos, I've never actually been out, correct me in my logic here; I'd be tempted to take cordless tools out with me, for example a reciprocating saw, a couple of batteries and a dozen blades?
@screwface6552Күн бұрын
If only it had a small mulri grind part on the blade down near the handle for fi e carving . Or maybe a liitle.hole in the emd of the blade solely ised for the hear treating process. What an ammazingly original design

Some advise could help. If you get 10 soup cans and put them under your plywood get you elevated will dramatically improve your heat loss also increase the effectiveness of your sleeping bag. Cans can be empty or fall lips if you can have a fire get a ash bucket heat rocks or sand up bring that in the tent with you. Careful extremely hot

Looks good. I picked up a couple of hybrid Stuart kilts. I like them. I would like to get a Kerry or Clare kilt. I plan on wearing one for a bit at our March Broken Shoe Rendezvous. Thanks for showing us your kilts😊

I don't know. I'm still trying to figure out Temu. It seems like a lot of the product listings sell out quickly and of those many are discontinued. I don't know why.

One thing is that water vapour such as dew may get in when liquid does not, so it might need to be gas tight. Great video!
