You would need to connect to the NMEA 2K Backbone but I have not done that I just use the backbone that was in my boat.

Does the 2012 FX20 or the 2013 250 SHO have the NEMA 2000 backbone

I would check with Yamaha Dealer but my understanding SHO motors are NMEA2000 compatible

There is a multitude of NMEA 2000 Starter Kits just Google it and you'll find them from variety of manufacturers and price ranges. They all work.

I want to purchase an engine interface cable Mercury outboard to Humminbird Solix 15 to monitor engine and system data by NMEA 2000 network. I have a 2017 175L Pro XS DFI opti; two Stroke engine; Model# 1175P73EY. I want to purchase the NEMA 2000 interface cable that connects to the 175 XS DFI under the engine cowl and connects to the Humminbird 408450- 1 5 Port Ethernet Switch by the Ethernet adapter cable. If additional equipment is needed to achieve this goal please let me know. can't get anyone from Mercury to talk to me.

I don't use Mercury Motors but might try a dealer to get those accessories. NMEA 2000 connects to the unit and is share via Ethernet on the SOLIX or for HELIX you need the Black Box Adapater from Humminbird. Everything else is supplied by Engine Manufacturer or NMEA 200 Cable Suppliers
