Do all of my fishing in South Louisiana for Saltwater fish,I was looking at the 10" and love it... What card would you recommend for South Louisiana,Lake Pontchartrain,Breton Sound area for this system?

There is Humminbird Lakemaster South Lousiana Aerial Chart that has Satellite imagery think up to I-10 in most places maybe a little higher in the eastern side. Contour mapping you can create your own from sonar data with AutoChart LIVE built in the unit.

Do the Auto Chart Live and Smart Strike work together so that you can create a custom map over portions of or all of the Smart Strike maps?

I just purchased the 10 di and 12 si megas. Prior to purchasing while doing my research, I saw where lots of people having problems with 2d producing double echos. Unfortunately, my 12 at the dash does this too. I didn’t figure it would really bother me until I tried recording in autochart live. It’s recording inaccurate depths and making my data void.

Watch a video than do it. Don't try to learn everything all at once. Do it one step at a time.

Doug - I currently have a 899 SI combo. Thinking about upgrading to Helix 12 SI G3N unit and also purchasing Lakemaster plus chip. At first thought I would just replace the 899 with new Helix, but then thought about some of your videos where you have mapping on a separate unit. Question: can I use an ethernet to connect the 899 with the new Helix? If so, would I be able to use the 899 for mapping? If not, can I just put the Lakemaster Plus chip in the 899 as a standalone unit for mapping only (if 899 is compatible with Lakemaster plus). Just trying to work through this in my mind. If leaving 899 mounted near steering wheel, I would need to be able to use it in a way that benefits me, otherwise I would just remove. Would greatly appreciate your opinion. Hopefully questions are clear.

899 can be networked via Ethernet connection and can share GPS Data between units but will not share the Mapping. But Waypoints, Routes and Tracks.

I mainly fish the huron river here in michigan, would these chips \ cards have information regarding rivers or only lakes as the lake master name implies??? thanks

I have not tried SmartStrike in a HELIX 7. I would ask Customer Service that question 800-633-1468 they can tell you correct answer
