In 6 years I lost my Mum, my job, my partner to cancer, my dog and finally my hair!! But I'm still rockin and rollin as it were. I still feel blessed because I never thought I'd do all the things I have. If I could speak to my 16 year old self I'd tell him to breathe, relax and get ready for some heartbreak but lots of happy times. I just found you and wow did this reading feel personal and matches exactly what has been going on for me - the long and winding road of struggle and I did just find a new job (at 58 years old) which I was not anticipating - but I finally stood up to my toxic boss at a place I thought I'd never get out of... and actually just sent an actual Demand letter today (there's that word!) for proper payment which she denied me when I resigned - and I stated payment is due in 3 days!I before I file a claim with the labor. board. I'm finally standing up for myself after a lifetime of letting everyone go first, go ahead, get the goodies while I hang back and accept the scraps because like you said - I don't like to fight. But I've become aware that my passivity has taken up most of my life and it's time to start fighting for myself, my worth and self-respect.
