i'm using a focusrite scarlett 6i6 in this video........i highly recommend getting an audio interface and not using the sound card in your computer.

Do you need another software to layer or can you layer using just Pure Synth software?

you can layer up to 4 sounds, with their own filters, envelopes, LFOs, FX sends........it's pretty powerful
