Dover Hydraulic Freight Elevator at Cain Physics Building, TAMU in College Station, TX.

Filmed on July 12, 2017: Huge thanks to the building manager for letting me ride this!!! :D I normally don't ask permission in universities like this, but the reason why I did this is because that there was a sign on the doors that said "Freight Handlers Only, Use Passenger Elevators". So, I feel like respecting the sign. Also, let this video show an example of how I respect the sign (Employees Only) and ask permission first before riding any non-public elevators in order to avoid getting in trouble. Installed in 1984.

I find it quite interesting that none of the doors have windows. Some of the buttons may be Adams replacements judging by the way they press, & they have LED lights in the buttons.

I normally don’t ask permission to ride college/university freighters either, because normally in colleges/universities, because normally there’s no signs & they don’t really care.

Yeah, very true. During the summer, I go to a camp @ a university here in Pittsburgh, & 1 of the buildings has an old freight elevator w/ no signs about riding. So of course, I filmed it after camp. The video's on my channel. It's a completely original, vintage Westinghouse freight elevator w/ manual Peelle doors, constant-pressure controls, & has an epic motor on it! It's such an epic elevator!

JimLiElevators I think it was a maintenance worker or something, they were redoing a room on the first floor when I went.

Nice freight elevator. Just as you state, anyone whom wants to ride it letalone record it if not a staff member needs to have permission from the facility's management to ride these. I'm finding some videos where some other elevator enthusiasts are riding them without permission or supervision, which makes people in the elevator community look bad. If you know someone by the name of Metro DSM Elevator Photography, he's illegally riding on those freight elevators in some of his videos. This one here for example at the Adventureland Inn in Altoona that's in the Des Moines area. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnPclKqgf7ennbM I can tell from right outside the elevator that he's in a restricted area of the facility, which makes it easier for him to be caught breaking and entering.

I understand what you’re saying, but this is pretty much now of a dead topic because there’s been too much of a tattletale between trespassing and riding freight elevators. While I personally don’t like trespassing, but it’s not my control for others because it’s up to them and for what they are responsible for.
